No one on my server can select the Sniper rifle. It doesn't show it in the MENU. hmm The new rifle (sig) is in there, but no sniper rifle.

I have this set in the server.cfg

seta g_availableweapons "222222222200121000"

Should I get rid of it?

Edit it?

Please help.

Thanks!

g_availableweapons should not be in a 1.02 config.

oh  thanks man.

I took i out and then restarted map. there was the sniper rifle. Went to next map...  no more sniper rifle again. DO I have to restart server?  and is there a better way to restart my server? I am using ssh and doing a top and kill the PID.

Can I do something else inside the game console?

THanks!

I removed the g_availableweapons line from the sof2.cfg and still when you choose a sniper rifle, you get an MP-5

Stumped again.  I really do read the rest of this forum as best as I can b4 trying to ask a question, I have been having a poor record of finding things that are relevant to my search, even though they have been there frequently (Real sorry, cuz that is lame of me) but I can't find anything else posted on this, so I hope I am not bugging.

Thanks!

I'm having the same problem.  I run a linux server as well.  My weapons config looks like:

seta disable_weapon_knife "0"
seta disable_pickup_weapon_US_SOCOM "0"
seta disable_pickup_weapon_M19 "0"
seta disable_pickup_weapon_silvertalon "0"
seta disable_pickup_weapon_microuzi "0"
seta disable_pickup_weapon_M3A1 "0"
seta disable_pickup_weapon_MP5 "0"
seta disable_pickup_weapon_USAS_12 "0"
seta disable_pickup_weapon_M590 "0"
seta disable_pickup_weapon_MSG90A1 "0"
seta disable_pickup_weapon_M4 "0"
seta disable_pickup_weapon_AK_74 "0"
seta disable_pickup_weapon_SIG551 "0"
seta disable_pickup_weapon_M60 "0"
seta disable_pickup_weapon_RPG_7 "1"
seta disable_pickup_weapon_MM_1 "1"
seta disable_pickup_weapon_M84 "0"
seta disable_pickup_weapon_SMOHG92 "0"
seta disable_pickup_weapon_AN_M14 "0"
seta disable_pickup_weapon_M15 "0"

I coulnd't figure it out... but people dont seem to mind using the sig as a replacement fot the sniper.

Here it is from the readme file.  But, I removed it and still NO SNIPER RIFLE. I restarted my server. Still the same thing.

Help?

-       g_availableWeapons cvar no longer modifiable, now controlled through "disable_*" cvars.

If I wanted everyone to understand this statement, and not just write it for programmers to understand, I would have written it thus;

You can remove the g_availableweapons command from your server.cfg file.  THis command is no longer needed.

Not being critical, but I know I am not the only who feels that way.

As far as these guys taking time out to answer questions here in this forum, Spike is always helping people out, and from what I have seen, he does a good job of explaining things.

Keep up the good work Spike.

I fix a/c's for a living. If I was to explain superheat and non-condensables, I could talk in a manner that is uninteligible for most of the people here on this forum about Air Conditioners, but what good would that do? I learned over the years to speak/explain things to the customers I serviced in a way that they could relate to/understand very easily.

Point is?  Speak in a manner that is easy for everyone to understand please.

Thanks!

P.S. Spike is an example. THere are a whole bunch of guys in this forum who help people generously, and do it on their own time. My hat gets tipped to you all!  Super work!

Sometimes I sound like a grouchy old man.  My bad. Working on it!  :)

hmmm havent even posted here yet  :p

i have found a few things that make the weapons go weird:

firs make sure the g_avalibleweapons is not in the server.cfg or the map cycle

and if u have a sof2mp.cfg file delete it

also when u are testing it do a mapcycel comamnd once u are in the game, i have encouter a prob that the stuff is not set properly but only for the 1st map, and it is sorted when it cycles back round  ???

Doh!  See, I'm such a pee brain.  It's in my mapcycle file.  I will swiftly remove it!

Thanks Spike   :s17:
