| Quote | | I never used the crouch-jump exploit with the shotty, so I haven't noticed any difference... |
there never was one, they bug only afected the guns not the shotties, which is a shame
cause the pump shottie seems to do more damage when u jump crouch with it
its more powerfull than the usas, it kills in 1 shot where the usas usaualy takes 2 |

Actually in the beginning, I used to jump and shoot with the boomstick but later I realized it was just plain silly so I stopped doing it. Sometimes its just hard to resist doing it if someone else does it and kills you but I try. Also I don't believe you can jump and shoot while carrying that much equipment and get a kill in real live, if you could you must be superhuman or have Matrix powers. I just thought with this patch it will be harder to kill when your jumping and shooting. Ah well... Merc |

| Quote (Garath @ Sep. 26 2002, 3:39 pm) | I'm sorry, but the point of the fix was to take away the INCREASED accuracy while crouching mid air and shooting, not to take away the jumping and shooting.
other than that, what's to fix? You say 'it ruins the look of the game'
that's a horrible excuse to take out jumping and shooting.
As far as jumping and shooting with a shotgun still works.. of course it does. Jumping and shooting someone point blank in the face with a shotgun is definately going to work, in RL or in the game. No matter how off your accuracy is. |
I think I understand the exact difference between the wordings now.
You are correct when you look at it from a jumping/shooting standpoint, vs a jumping/shooting WITH the accuracy of an on the ground, crouched person. So, I do see the difference.
So the accuracy was removed when crouched while IN the air. Ok, I understand that now.
Asthetics, is NOT a bad reason to remove it from the game. We all prefer things look good to us. This is something that would do that for ME, personally. Others may not be as concerned with it I suppose.
You don't see a lot of people jumping around with the Micro Uzi. I guess me and the other person that use it see no need.
Can someone tell me what the range on the M590 shotgun is?
If the answer is, "Til it hits something", then it should be noted that that is completely unacceptable. If I have on body armor, that pellet is going to be absolutely USELESS beyond 100 feet.
Why does this thing consistantly dish out damage at long to extreme ranges? Not to mention that the "ugh" nudge you have to adjust to seems to be the same at ANY range.
Bah. The more I think about it, it really sucks that the shotgun is so prevelent. You may as well remove the Micro Uzi from the game.
Guess that's balance. |
