http://forums.ravensoft.com/ib....t=10886My resolution was 1024x768x32. Reducing it to 640x480x16 adds no performance gain at all. My graphics settings are not causing the low frame rates, the AI code is. The "eye candy" IS TURNED down. I have tried ALL the tweaks, AGP settings, and driver updates. Tried Windows 98, 2000, XP, tried 5 different PC's ranging from P-3 733 to AMD 1.2 Gig, to P-4 2.4 Gig, TNT2 Ultra to GF4 Ti4400. " I know that map, there is a guy down the corridor he's probably throwing a nade at you" There IS NO GUY! EVERYONE EXCEPT the ones down the stairs and on the other side of a wall are dead! I can SEE THE GRENADE COME OUT OF THE WALL! " I do remember a similar bug from near beta, it could be that one and if so you're running a stolen version 0.13- you won't find any help here in that case. But, giving you the benefit of the doubt- in the case it is some bug that went undetected by _everyone_, that would mean it's rare enough that you can get around it." OH NO YOU DON'T! Don't even think of accusing me of that. Similar bugs from the beta are still there because you guys haven't fixed ANYTHING! The retail version IS beta. How do you "get around" a bug that causes the game to stop. You can't progress without this guy doing his scripted crap. Reload an old save and wait for the next script to fail? Like the Captain in the Columbia mission? His script just stops too and he stops moving and just sits there saying, "watch my right" etc. and you can not leave him or you die. This bug is all through the game, it's a game killer and you guys ignore it along with all the others. " Saying how "stupid and annoying" you think sof2 is won't help you with your FPS issue and it won't help anyone else." What's really stupid and annoying is you guys claiming these obvious bugs don't exist, refusing to patch them and basically anyone who talks about it is accused of warezing the game then silenced with locking/deleting the threads, and possible banning. What a slap in the face. Why don't you just remove this "SP Support Forum" since you refuse to give ANY support whatsoever. I show you a bug. You claim it doesn't exist. I show you a picture of it (I'd do a demo if it was possible) and you tell me there is a guy there tossing nades that is not there at all. Why don't you just call me a moron and throw rotten tomatoes? You think I'm too stupid to know if there is a guy there? I've killed EVERY guy in that map, I know where they are. |

What part of "giving you the benefit of the doubt" don't you understand? I'm just listing the possibilities not accusing you of anything. One of the explanations I listed includes the possibility it is a real but rare bug.
As for your FPS problems, there are plenty of ways to fix this without resorting to flames. As I listed in my post start here and if that doesn't work ask for help in the FPS threads. Keep in mind this is a support website, with people donating their time to supporting you. It is not a public flame forum.
Sorry for trying to help. It's been said before by moderators on this forum and I'll say it again: damned if you do, damned if you don't. |

Can you read? I said I've tried all the FPS 12 step self help threads. The Frame Rate Problems can not be fixed on my end. It's a problem with the game. My PC's are in top notch, lean gaming form. No background junk, no system restore, no antivirus, proper AGP setting and resources, big hardware, newest drivers (older ones tested too, made no difference). I've tried it on 5 PC's all different, all "big and bad" so blaming this sound card or that chipset or the other video card doesn't fly. IT IS THE GAME.
I did not flame anyone, anywhere. Just because I am not worshipping you does not make it a flame.
If you were not accusing me of warez, then why bring it up, then lock the thread so I can't defend against the attack?
I've aready gone through the trouble shooting threads and all that for months now. Please stop refering me to the "newbie" section. I've already been there, I wrote half of it. The only hope now is a patch. |

Here is the save. Just kill everyone you see including the guy in the room with a shotgun. From that room, before you go down the hall, shoot through the window and kill the guy accros the big room on the balcony. That's all of them in the area. Then go out of the room and left, and "plink, plink" the grenade will come up. It either comes from the guys down the stairs under you or from a guy in the big room below who has not even spawned yet. They don't spawn until you go down in that room. Jump over the edge (guess youre not supposed to do this) and they will magically appear there before your eyes. Apparently they can throw grenades before they exist up through the floor, or the ones down the back stairs can throw them through the floor and walls. I have even walked along looking over the edge and no one is there, but the grenade appears. I'll go find more spots like this if you want. One is where I mentioned in the first jungle map, past the crates and the machine gun bunker, with the cliff on your right and the large hill on your left. Nades will come right through that hill and land near you or fall off the cliff. Beyond that they will throw nades from the next little canyon thing before you ever go in it and before they should ever see you. The nades will come right at you no matter if you sneak or where you move. It's the same throughout the game in all different places. this is not the game killer though, just an annoyance. What's worse is the script bugs where they just stop and stand there repeating things irrelevant to what's going on and refuse to move. When that happens, the game is over. I can't get you an AVI of that. It would require me taking hours to find and learn some AVI program, and then thrash my hard drive over and over making it until the bug happens. THEN I have a file that is larger than I have space for to get to you. It's not practical, and it's a known bug. I've read several others post about it here before. Raven people posted that it would be fixed in 1.01. It wasn't and still isn't. Of course it's a "warez version" bug. They all are. They have never been fixed. |

It is not even debateable. They absolutely do come through walls. You can actually see the grenade come out of a wall in some places.
Most obvious is in RMG's. You can be outside of a small building and stand there and watch grenades come out of the building through the wall! Look araound in a wide open area and there is no other enemy on the other side of the building or anything. Grenades keep coming. Open the door and go in and there is this one baddy in there. He was throwing them right through a wall. This is not even a rare occurance. |

Okay. Here it is again. I loaded this save about 3 times and it did it again. It's not rare. He just walks back and forth jumping on and off the train, saying "watch out". He won't go in the train at all this time. I even tried to get near him and "push" him in and he just struggles to get past me and go the other way. It does this later in the game on other scripted areas too. Game Over. GG. |
