Ok, I have taken the time out to make this post to help people with there patch errors.

First, Remove all added mods or pk3's.  you folders should look like this
Base: Models, Maps, Mp, MusicandSound, Skins, Textures0, Textures1234, TheRest, Update101, Update102.

MP:sof2key, Sof2mp.cfg.

Now, Remove any files not listed to a folder on the desktop.  I mean all files!  Any maps, mods, skins, everything.

Try starting sof2mp and see if it works at all.(note-servers might not show up as the master server seems to be having problems right now)

If The game works fine without your custom files then one by one put them back in and open the game.  The second there is an error you know you have an uncompatible file and connot be used.  continue doing this till you have all files tested.

It seems like a lot of work to do but it should pay off in the end.

And finally, if none of this seems to work then simply un-install, delete the sof2 folder(even after un-install some files might still be there)  and then re-install and start fresh.

One more thing, make sure all original raven files are named correctly.  there has been an issue about the first patch name being re-named to "Update1~.pk3"  this file should be renamed to "Update101.pk3"  for the second patch to install.

also I know youll hate it but try to use the ingame browser for awhile till all servers get upgraded.  some people have problems connecting to servers cause they get "Protocal 1.01" problem.  this mearly means you are seeing a server still running the old patch and you are not compliant.  so for the next week or 2 i suggest using the ingame browser to view and search for servers.

When I try to play MP, it hangs on the first Loading screen. I tried a reinstall after deleting my SOF2 program folder and same thing. So I shut off Zone Alarm and problem solved. Oh well not to bad.

Dear Ravensoft.
Great game, great maps, great weapons!! Thanks a lot for this patch. The minor problems with firewalls, etc, are worth it to have punkbuster.

Keep up the good work.

yeah.. I even deleted it from the zone alarm program list, but no luck yet. for some reason, it hangs on the Loading screen, and I bet zone alarm is asking for advice, but I don't see it.

I'll try stuff. Maybe if I can get the game to go in a window rather than full screen that would do it. :-)

hey Pizpot!

tx for jogging my memory on zonealarm! (duh, i should have thought of that)

all you gotta do is goto ZA's program screen and re-enable sof2 (give it the little checks instead of ?s)

when a program changes ZA removes authorization for the prog

Swank!

You saved me!

The last thing would´ve come to my mind was that!
The First patch exe renamed, spiffel!

Funny thing is, the second patch did install, but punkbuster didn´t work, so i couldn´t connect to protected servers, and the unprotected refused because I didn´t have "the right Version" of SOF 2...

Almost funny.

Thanks!        :s8:

hey, revelation confirmed, puting sof2 into Not Full Screen Mode allows me to see the zone alarm question. for some reason it wasn't working by putting checks in za programs list. No more freezing on loading screen while zone alarm asks if its ok...
