Thank u so much.I didnt have this problem with 98se.Sure as crap,there was a file update1~pk.3,and another correctly named update101.pk.3 from a reinstall attempt of 1.2?anyway,deleted the incorrect one and good to go, *thanx for the effort

My problem is after applying the latest SOF2 patch nothing works in the setup menu (meaning I cannot remap keys when trying to click on a item nothing happens like things are disabled )nor can I enable punkbuster or join a server. When I tried joining a sever I connect and then get disconnected with the following message (Client/Serv game mismatch sof2mp.1.01./sof2mp1.02) I ran the wiser app and nothing unusual was detected so good to go there. Even after verifying in the console that the version is 1.02 still doesn’t seem like it installed properly Un-installed and re-installed game after removing the program and activision folders and registry clean. Fresh install same thing Any feedback or help would be great! thanks

Had the same prob with ZA, but resolved that. The problem now seems to be with PB. Have re-installed, applied both patches, made sure DX, video, sound drivers all up to date, etc. I can only play with PB disabled, on servers not running PB. Everything works fine. Soon as I enable it, and join a PB server, I can play for about 10 secs before system locks up. Do not have any custom maps, skins, etc., I know it is not system related because 1.01 works fine. Could it be corrupted PB files?

When I set up a local lan server, I get this exact same problem. I dont know what is causing it, but I set up a server on my computer and entered the game OK, but when my friend tried to connect from his computer on my Lan (he also had 1.02 patch like me) - he got that Client/Server sof2mp.1.01/sof2mp.1.02 mismatch error.

When he tried being the server, and I tried connecting to him, we got the same error. So when he connects to me, it thinks I have 1.02, and he has 1.01. Yet when I connect to him, it thinks I have 1.01 and he has 1.02. grrrr :s23:

How do we fix this?

Also, when he tried connecting online it said that he couldn't connect anywhere, because punkbuster was not enabled. BUT it clearly WAS enabled! any tips here also? (I'm new here, and still reading through the forums, so bear with me pls)

After re-checking this again I found that the file must be exact as this fixed my problem.A slight overlook on my part.Take out the ~ after renaming this file.Then re-install the patch .File is located in SOF2 base folder

One more thing, make sure all original raven files are named correctly. there has been an issue about the first patch name being re-named to "Update1~.pk3" this file should be renamed to "Update101.pk3" for the second patch to install.

d/l at another site and try again. you've got a corrupt file from somewhere.

or get 1.03 full which goes from 100 to 103.

I had the exact same problem. For me, I had to get older drivers for my gfx-card (Nvidia detonator 45.28), set all gfx-settings to default, and then set pb_system cvar to 1 (Type "/pb_system 1" in the console, without quotes.) That got the game running. Still having some trouble playing with PB enabled though. The game is laggy and some weapons don't work like they're supposed to. (constantly reloading by themselves, eventhough the clip is full, dissapearing, or playing other weapon-animations.)
