In response to the above:

Yes those are the commands used to select a weapons loadout as well as set which can be picked up.

You do not have to use them in your mapcycle:  that was to help those using the old SOF2 runner which would put g_weapons_availability into the mapcycle itself.

Your best bet would be to copy the above commands from the initial post into your server.cfg.  You can modify them there by setting to "1" or "0" and this will set the available weapons for people to choose however you like.

Also I believe you can do the same with rcon commands from the console... but note... this will not change your server.cfg file so if your server reloads its server.cfg you will default back to what you have set it at there.

I hope this helps ya....

How can I write a .cfg to limit weapon loadouts on the map I'm about to toggle via RCON?

I used to issue two commands:

exec shot.cfg (this would rcon g_availableweapons xxxx.....)

rcon map mp_barn

How can I exec multiple rcon commands on a client in a .cfg?
The g_availableweapons command allowed it to be done in one command. Now it seems to require quite a few.

Can it be done from a client?
Or do I need to make a server side .cfg to exec remotely?
Got me?

In response to above ... icq me... you have my icq via personal message.  I have a single /rcon command solution for you.

Make a new mapcycle.... just for that map... in the mapcycle call out the weapon disables.

From console or remote    /rcon sv_mapcycle whateveryounameit.mapcycle

Then it will come up as the next map the way you want it.  When your done playing that map.... /rcon exec server to reset your original server.cfg.

Any further questions about this please ICQ me and I'll be more than happy to help.

where is the server.cfg file supposed to be at? i searched for it on my machine and i couldn't find it....should i make one? and if so where do i put it at?

at the location where i am at we are running 8 gaming systems and everytime u run over certain weapons/ammo the game freezes up and creates an error.......is this how to fix this problem? i've tried changing which computer is running the server but that doesn't affect it. Any help would be appreciated

I run the -]RoC[- Server and for some reason my mapcycle (which does NOT remove weapons individually) still holds the weapon selection I have made.  I'm not sure how I did this, but I was messing around and it worked.  This sticks even when my mapcycle goes from CTF to DM and back. With pickups enabled to disabled.  Anyone else have success with that?

assuming u never set disable pickups then its at enabled, so in dm u get pickups, but in ctf pickups are not alowed so the cvar is not used and outfiting is enabled.
