(1)Does a client have to have PB enabled to join a server running PB?

(2) Does PB "report" what you are running on your computer regarding the games?

Thanks

I do believe Raven said that Punkbuster is integrated into SoF2. This means that it starts with SoF2 and closes with SoF2. There is no option of running it or not.

Thank you Dr. Nick. I knew this already.I was just wondering what PB reported to the server you are connecting to. I suppose that the answer to q1 would be "yes" since it would already be integrated into SoF2.

alright here's the deal with PB as i have seen it with other games and the way it sounds.....
You decide to enable PB or not....servers themselves decide wether or not to be PB enabled or not...if they're PB enabled your only going to be able to join if you have PB enabled....

If you have PB enabled and the server doesn't you can still  join up...but PB aint going to do much for you there

as for if it broadcasts yoru system stuff...from what i've seen no...could be wrong i'm not sure of all the ins and outs of PB

Thanks all. I guess I wasn't clear as to how it works.

Rotor Head,You don't know me so don't ASSUME that I am cheating just by asking a question. I don't cheat and don't like those who do. Anyone who has played a game with me knows this.

Everyone's getting the wrong end of the stick here. Ok a couple of things:
What rune said is essentially correct for most games which run PB, such as Q3A and HL:CS. SoFII WILL be different from these:- PB will be running all the time as it is hardcoded and integrated now into the SoFII code.

PB I doubt will be able to have any sort of spyware (I assume that's what you're talking about) because it will only be running while you are playing, and I doubt Raven would integrate PB (if they did I doubt they'd tell us anyhow).
So my best guess is "I don't know" :p

Perhaps it will be a cvar/console command and/or a command you can set in the setup screen?
We won't know till it's out :D
No real point in not having it active though :p
