Go look on EB games and they are selling SOF2 GOLD Pre-Order which is shipping on 10/22/02.

People have seen the test servers running a possible 4 new weapons, new maps, maybe a new gametype???  And, why would Raven release a patch before that date, and then release ANOTHER patch so people could upgrade to the gold edition?  This all sounds like a gold release patch to me!  Look for it on Oct 22!!!!

From bits and pieces we have put together from Apoxol's posts, the patch seems to be coming along well. Lots of things having been fixed.

Usually most game companys will contact one of the big gaming sites or vice versa and they will announce the patch and the content a week or so in advance. So I'd be waiting for that...

so, according to what you are posting, people will think the patch won't be released until Oct 22?  alot of people won't wait that long for the fixes.  I see us losing more players if we have to wait another month for the patch.  I sure hope this isn't right.

i am so happy to hear this. We had an unfortunate match with a team that was less than genuine the other day (not TA, Frick <-u guys rock)

My SOF2 ctf team is starting to get frusterated with the wall hacking going on. We dropped out of ladders that are on anything but rmg,as we just cant compete with the magic grenades that somehow find us around corners without explanation.

Hey Apoxal, dont listen to the SOF2 downers. This game rocks. Adding the new weapons and fixes regularly will prolong its life. CS and TF have lasted years due to this secret. It is intresting to look at TF as a model of how to succeed and go through demise. TF started as a mod for Q1, it was extremly sucessful and kept Q1 alive through the transition of many more hi-tech games due to them giving it constant upgrades. They introduced it to halflife and the same was true there until they pulled the team off dev of the patch and put them on tf2. The community quickly switched to CS cause that is where the support attention was.
Games like Unreal and RTCW will only be moderatly sucessful cause they don't learn from the mod teams that made games like q1 and halflife huge phenoms. SOF2 is the only game capitalizing on that success. Sometime I wonder where the game reviewers have been for the last 10 years, it obviously isnt in the fps community.
But btw, still think ya need to up g_speed in ctf. LOL
