When some one stops back to defend there base. Is this considered camping? Cause thats what i got accused of last night just wondering if every felt staying back and defending is camping. Cause you are always in the same area.

people acuse everyone of lots of things if they are getting beat.

IMHO camping is aceptable if:

ur the red team in inf/dem
camping at ur base in ctf

Not aceptable IMHO:

Blue team camping in dem/inf (makes the game last hours)
Camping in dm/tdm/elim
Spawn Camping

thanxs spike it was CTF. dont normally get noticed in a game never mind accused of camping my scores are pretty pathetic lik 20/20. But hey its the taking part that counts.

This is dumb the camping crap its part of the game and in real life not everyones rushes to teh front some stay back and camp when i snipe or the team is down I AM A VERY HAPPY CAMPER. no shame in my game its all part of it. I mean if you camp and get killed each tiem i understand but if it works for you do it. Some dorks will say campers suck well why cuz they are swallowing bullets and your not so who sucks then. Part of being MORE STEALTHY is camping I mean you camp the idoits from the other team pass right by you you get up run and do your business.

Campers don't like to run around like chickens with their head cut off.

Running around the front: cost 10/2 ratio kills
Sniping at several perches : 16/7 ratio kills
Staying back and kicking base butt and pee-peeing people off calling you a camper : Priceless

Theres sometihings running around is good for, for everything else theres camping

aye in inf, its up to some players in blue to protect the exit to helicopter to stop reds swarming it.

Usually I think the people who stay at base are probably the least selfish players, as let's be honest it can sometimes be a bit boring hanging about.  But their worth their weight in gold, when you're running back with the case knowing that somebody has secured your exit point.  (How many times have you had to fight you way through a sea of red who have all gone straight to your exit point)

What does slightly tend to irritate as Spike pointed out, is when the last blue left at the base starts to camp. Don't do it, be a hero and go get yourself blown up so we can all start again!

i mostly just advance and find the enemy no matter what gametype it is.  if i hear u coming, sure i'll stop and wait for u to come around the corner.  if someone ever says i'm camping i really don't care and go about with my win!

I think it depends on the game type.  In inf or CTF it's more part of the game.  I generally only play elim and in that type I don't like to camp and I don't like when others camp.

As it's often said, camping is part of the game.  However, the reason people say campers suck is because it takes less skill (important to note that I don't include snipers as campers.  Sniping is a skill on it's own and has drawbacks.  Those who can do snipe effectively have my respect).  People who hide in a corner, or in an office or behind boxes waiting for someone to happen by and then shoot them in the back doesn't take much skill.  Also, when there is only 1 or 2 people left in an elim game and they are camping, it is rather boring for both the ghosts, and those searching the campers out.  Nothing worse than waiting 5 minutes for a draw because the camper is never found.
