If I host a LAN party does everyone need to bring a copy of whatever games they play?? What if I supply a copy, is this legal? What happens if we are playing SOF2 and someone shows up without it, can we supply them with a copy for the night?
Just wondering? No laws have been violated.  I would rather be safe than sorry.

if you give a friend ur copy of sof2/other games then you will have to give him a diff. key than yours.  unless, you don't plan to play him.  even then, it is violating...... :s28:

hmm good question. Where are all the legal buffs around here.

I guess if it is like other EULA's you only get to install the game on one computer.  Installing on mulitiple computers would require a multi-volume license which is non existent for about any game.. Correct me if I am wrong.

Is this right?!?!!?!?

You worried because you are hosting a public LAN party?

Where are all the people that run this thing?? :s27:

Since I do things legit, I wouldn't feel quite right if I knew I was breaking laws.  Anyone from Raven 'round here??

Thanks everyone  :s22:

You feel bad about breaking the law?
Because it's 'wrong', or becasue you don't want to suffer the possible consequences?

I hope it's the latter.

Personally, i'd jsut go ahead and do it, then make sure my biddies uninstalled the game and beat whomever tries to do otherwise.

My point is that I DO NOT want to do anything illegal, or anything to infring a companies copyright.  I create games and progs and the last thing I want to happen is for someone else to use it without my permission.

Does anyone know how I may contact Raven to find out what I need to do to provide a nice night gameplay without controversy?? or get written permission??          :s22:
