"Whenever we stand against the flow of opinion on strongly contested issues, a man does what he must, in spite of personal consequences, in spite of obstacles, dangers, and pressures... That is the basis of all human morality."

Serious Sam is not even in the same league as SOF2. Your opinion could be somewhat resembled by comparing a piece of dog feces to the necklace in titanic.

I love both games a lot, so when it comes to deciding which of the two has the better graphics, i say that they are about even.  Sam has the better architecture and level design with nice draw distance, and Soldier has the better animations and texture work. There, all nice and even.   :s23:  :s24:

You also must remember that the two engines were built for entirely different things.
SS was built for EXACTLY what it did, large, impressive architecture and landscapes... huge draw distance and big guns and lots of enemies.
The Quake3 engine was designed for close fighting, in garish coloured buildings, with basic looking weapons and VERY fast gameplay. SoFII is nothing like that, and Raven have done a he|| of a job bringing the Q3 engine to what it is now.
