I have seen heaps of info on possible reasons why the game locks up, but....has anyone worked out how to fix this yet or am I left with no other option than selling this game as it wont run on my AMD XP1800+ ?

As I posted in previous messages on this subject, I also have the " WinFast A250le TD Nvidia GeForce4 Ti 64mb DDR video card ", does anyome know if it is the CPU or video card which is causing game to lock, I disregarded RAM as I only have a single stick of 512 DDR and it is rare to have problems with only one stick?

Any help would be apprecaited, game even locks up in safe mode ?

Thats weird I have a 1800XP with a Geforce 2 64 GTS and it runs more then fine. I do remeber though I had a 800 Pentium that I believe overheated one day and fried the 3d section or so I think Cuz any game it played it would lock, well any 3d game with hgiher graphics then Unreal 1 that one it played like a dream. Also it played MP for soldier of fortune ok for like an hour at a time. Try putting the cpu on another board ort the video card . you never know one thing might be faulty.

You find that 9 out of 10 times if you have a lockup with a looping sound issue it will be either that the sound card drivers should be updated or you may have a directx (should try to re-install dx8.1 if you can).

I myself cannot play the single player at all cause it just errors and crashes within a minute of playing.  Friggen lovely.  Every game I own runs flawless.  But this one.  It is hard to make me believe in my case or any that it is always a drive issue etc.  It is like the release of Max payne where you couldnt even isntall it or Pool or Radiance where it was so buggy there were patches that needed to be installed just to play it at all.  It appears Raven needs to seriously consider fixing this game soon.  I myself would rather just return it.  It just is not right when you have a stable up to date system with good hardware to have to second guess everything cause that is the only hit or mis support you can give for your products.  This is getting tiresome.
