Elmo? uhh.... nm....

If you must know my reasons for upgrading to a 1 ghz is that when I bought my current cpu it was a 700mhz processor, and now with no overclocking windows is seeing it as a 900 mhz, and it in fact does run obviously faster than when I got it (makes no sence but it's true). The way I figure it if I upgrade to a 1 ghz I'll end up with a 1.2 ghz cpu, and I'm getting the processor cheap anyway so it's worth a shot in my mind (warped though it may be) and even if I don't notice a difference I'll have an extra cpu lying around I can use to build yet another pc with (got 6 atm but ya can always use another pc...).

Also the vid card wasn't in this pc when I first built it, was being a cheapy bastid at the time and bought the worst vid card I could get until I decided to upgrade which was a couple months after I built the system, so I guess they must have had a geforce2 4 or 5 years ago cause I bought one... (then again I have terrible memory, everything before 1999 is a bit blurry :/ )

Ok, are we done bickering?

If you could answer the following questions I can look into the actual problem for you.  Anyone else who cant contribute to a fix for this problem please done post in here anymore, thanks.

1) At one point were you able to get the list and did you have servers in your favorites?

2) After you hit get new list can you bring down the console and see if it says anything about how many servers retrieved (should be after "Retrieving Servers...")

3) If you go to favorites now do you see servers in the list at all or is it empty?

4) What ports do you have forwarded on your router/firewall for sof2?

The master server is functioning properly at the moment so thats not the problem.  Most often its a problem with the udp packets not being forwarded properly to the machine making the server request.

Ok ok I'll be good.....but he started it....

Ok answer time:

1) I was able to get the list on monday, but not tuesday. I had only 1 server in my favorites at the time, I would have had more if I could manage to connect to any servers other than mine, but the "invalid cd_key" message prevented that form happeneing, but one problem at a time, one at a time...

2) When I click get new list It says Retreiving Servers for eternity (or so close to it i'm not willing to wait that long, took me 30 mins before i gave up)

3) I do not see the one favorite in my favorites list, though the server is supposed to be up 24/7

4) I have my firewall set to forward port 20100. I'll also add that sof2 worked fine up until tuesday, though I didn't do the IP forwarding until about a month ago when I started to run my own dedicated server. That also worked just fine with only one port open until tuesday.

Also I can ping the master server just fine with no packet loss in windows command prompt...

Well people it turns out my firewall IS what was causing the problem of me not seeing any servers. I now have all the settings on the pos correct and everything works just fine. Christ almighty.... anywho in case this helps anyone else having that problem here's what fixed it for me; My IP on the network had somehow been changed to ***.***.*.101 when it had been ***.***.*.100 before. My IP forwarding of course didn't change. POS firewall.. I'm pretty sure the firewall is what designates my IP on the network...would be nice if it would change the IP forwarding when it changed my farking IP. After I changed my IP forwarding to the correct IP I could play on servers and run my own server from the console, but not a dedicated server, that still didn't work. The problem was that for one reason or another, my dedicated server was trying to continue to run off of ***.***.*.100 IP instead of the new one. So I trashed my config for the dedicated server and started over again, and now the server runs just fine, in fact there are a few people playing on it right now...

I shall now go back to the darkness until my firewall ####s up again, then I shall return with more swear words than a Quentin Tarentino film and more insults then Triumph...

Oh yea I'm still waiting for my solid gold toilet.
