Ok, I've tried multi-multi-re-un-and fresh installs.

I get different problems everytime I re-install.  The first few times the single player would not even work, it just wouldn't launch the the game when I clicked play.

Now i'm having all kinds of texture problems, all the textures are missing from the game. When I try to copy them from the cd it gives me an error.  I've ran wiser2 and I know somthing is installed wrong, but re-installing don't help and it won't let me copy from the cd.

I really like SOF2 so I guess tomorrow I'm going to go buy another copy.  The new copy will not do this stuff will it?  I won't be able to get my money back I will only be able to exchange it for another copy of sof2 which would be useless.

So I want to make sure that its going to work.

About 2 hours after I went and preordered my copy of SOF2 I was reading an article at GameSpy or somewhere like that describing your problem. They where having major problems reading the CD and installing it, getting missing textures and errors. Kind of put me of buying it but I got it a few days later and it worked fine.

Try taking the game back and getting a replacement copy of SOF2, although I would imagine that there is a 99% chance it is your machine, or the way it is configured.

What sort of machine do you have?

What sort of CD-ROM/DVD-ROM do you have?

Do you have the latest BIOS/drivers for your computer, including CD ROM drives?

Have you tried installing it on other people's computers to see if it works?

Its not my machine..  After it didn't work after the 8th install attempt I took the game to my girl friends house and tried it on her pc, ran the wiser2 and got errors, different errors than I had got on my pc but errors non the less. (I know you aren't supposed to install games on other pc's but I think my situation changes things a bit...

my specs
AMD 2200+
256 DDR
soyo mobo
40 gig WD 7200
60 gig WD 7200
ATI 8500LE 128mb Radeon
Lite-on CDRW
Samsung CDRom
creative sb live 5.1

tried installing on both cd drives and had problems, I even put in a extra dvd-rom I had laying around and installed with it, and it still installed with errors according to wiser2.

My system runs other games fine,  in the last week I've installed RTCW and Mafia, both games have worked fine.

I dont care to purchas another copy of the this game because I like it, I just want to make sure the new copy will work.

We can't help you then, you will have to buy another copy or something if you 'smashed the box'.

Consider taking some anger management classes, game boxes have feelings too and don't deserve to be physically abused.  :D

Personally I think the SO2 box art is pretty cool, and I have it sitting on my desk... I wouldn't smash it... I have the game boxes for games I sold like 5 years ago.

I don't really see how it would be my system....

Like I said before.  I can play RTCW and Mafia just fine no problems what so ever.

If you open your eyes and look at this forum you will see tons of people who are having problems with the game, allot of them are having the same problems that I am.

I'm not saying everyone has problems with the game, but allot more people do than should.

Now you all say "run the wiser prog" and "defrag and download drivers" while that may work in a few cases I think the bottom line is that there are allot of defective SOF2 games out there and it has nothing to do with the users system.

Raven should just take responsibility for the problem and do something about it.
