I have every box from all games I have ever bought. Takes away lots of space, but oh well. Is it only me, or did the boxes look better back then?

I don't really see how it would be my system....

Like I said before.  I can play RTCW and Mafia just fine no problems what so ever.

If you open your eyes and look at this forum you will see tons of people who are having problems with the game, allot of them are having the same problems that I am.

I'm not saying everyone has problems with the game, but allot more people do than should.

Now you all say "run the wiser prog" and "defrag and download drivers" while that may work in a few cases I think the bottom line is that there are allot of defective SOF2 games out there and it has nothing to do with the users system.

Raven should just take responsibility for the problem and do something about it.

yea ok raven will go buy  everyone a decent cd rom drive .. samsung cd rom drives SUCK    they are the lowest priced drives on the market .. they had problems   even with SOF 1 and countless other games  ..no raven is not gonna buy you a new cd rom drive .. if ya read the sticky posts  it tells you how to manually copy the files from your cd set to your sof 2 folder in case wiser finds a corrupted install

it also says read   page 31  of your sof 2 manual about returns ..  raven does not handle  returns   nor tech support .. that is handled by  activision .. why you would throw out a receipt and smash a game box on a game your  trying to install is beyond  my comprehension ..    ..i   personally whpould have gone back to the shop ya bought it from with  the receipt ..the  cd's and the full packageing and request another copy ..   but no you did not do that

you also  did not read the manual on how to return a defective cd .. you also  have not read the entire message board on what to do  if wiser comes up with errors .. you also must not have contacted  the right people

support@activision.com

if you visit the website over there like the games manual tells you  to do ... you would have instructions on how to manually  install the game

put your cd roms in the drive and  manualy drag and copy  all the .pak files from the cd  to your sof 2 directory .. if you cant copy the files  you  need to  contact activision   as per page 31 of the sof 2 manual  and get a replacement disk set

but ya cant do that without proof of purchase ..   save the receipts till you have  anything installed    on any software  ..

if that dont work... really dude dump that junk samsung cd drive

also  about rtcw ..yea  your machine read that  disks fine ..  have ya ever considered your cd drive   may be dying ..  i installed sof 2 off a 16 speed  4 year old   cd rom drive ..as well as a 12 yr old  quad speed cd rom drive .. had no issiues
MAKE SURE WHEN INSTALLING ANY SOFTWARE YOU HAVE  ANY AND ALL ANTIVIRUS PROGRAMS SHUT OFF

Just thought I 'd post and say, I got a new copy of SOF2 today.

My single player works now.  I'm havin some problems connecting to play MP but i posted about in the MP support forum.

SO I guess it proves that the game I had before WAS defective......
