Ok, I figured this would be a good topic that would get people more interested and maybe we can put all these on a links page om the main mod page.

What are a list of links that you know of related to an aspect of mod development?

A few that I know and have heard batted around are:

Flipcode Coding related
Hexdot General Mod development and organization tools.
Gamasutra General game development site with alot of good articles.

That's all I can think of right now off the top of my head, so add to the list.

CGTalk forums for modeling/animation/general 3d stuff.  A lot of high poly stuff, but most of it can be applied to low poly models too.

Hey, good thread -- I'm going to catalog these into a page on the mods.ravensoft.com site.

I'll contribute one: Code 3 Arena. Might not be advanced enough for really experienced modders, but it's a great starting place for those looking to get into coding mods.

Map Center - mapping related (obviously).
I've seen the Prima books while browsing around the local bookstore but I've never picked one up. I'll have to check them out know that someone has vouched for them.
A book focusing on Q3 mods is pretty cool. Seems like it would be really helpful for a Q3 coding n00b like me. It's pretty reasonably priced compared to some of the books I had to buy for college this semester.

By far, the best resource I've come across when it comes to doing texture work and getting ideas for maps and whatnot would have to be both Google's Image Search and Deviant Art.

Google's Image Search is great for finding all sorts of random photographs if you're in a quick need for a visualization of an idea or other concept. Deviant Art on the other hand has a huge collection of free stock art with some fairly decent stuff in it -- the only problem is that it can take quite a long time to browse through their archives and their search functionality is rather klunkered. :s17:

This is kind of funny but in the Elite Force mod forum on this board there is a sticky topic that lists general Q3 related mod resources. The list is quite large.

Take a peek.
