Hello,

I just downloaded the new 40.41 drivers coz I heard it was good !!  

I unzipped the files in a folder as I usually do. Then I ran setup and it started.  While initializing the following warning message come across !



What do you think I should do guys ? Should I risk it or not ?

I have:  Windows XP Pro
           GeForce 4 MX 420
           AMD Athlon XP 1800+

Its up to you.  All that is saying is that Microsoft hasnt verified those drivers to work with windows XP.  It doesnt mean they wont work, but Microsoft might not give you tech support if you have problems.  If you are worried wait for ones that are WHQL certified.

I received the same notice and selected "install anyway".No problems so far.

Everyone gets that message..theres tons of drivers not certified by Microjunk for all kinds of hardware

the new 40.41 drivers rock!  i've turned up all my settings in opengl and direct 3d..no FPS loss at all. BTW, I have a ti4600

Simply means they are not tested/approved by microsoft.
Who gives a crap? Like they would know a good driver when it bit 'em in the butt. lol

Dude i get that same message everytime i use new drivers. For one i allways remove my old drivers first. Then i go ahead and install the new ones. And that message allways pops up. Go ahead your going to love these drivers. I have a Geforce3 TI 200 card, but my comp is a crapy 1.1ghz celeron i was running SOF2 in the lowest rez with all the details turned down as low as possible. Just to keep my FPS up in the 60s to 70s, they would go in the 100s in like hallways and stuff. But after installing these new drivers im running my game at 800x600 all the details turned up and im getting the same FPS.

I risked the install and everything is fine.  THese drivers really rock and they do have a lot of new options and comfortable settings.

But I have one small other problem that I had for a certain period of time with my last 30.82 drivers aswell. When I play SOF2, my frames wont go up more than 60fps AGAIN !!!!!

Even if you check the Hz from the monitor while playing you will see that it is running at 60Hz.  I set the frequency from my windows at 100Hz and I also set my NV Refreshtool and checked if everything is ok.

BUT it still wont go up more than 60fps and the monitor flickers bad while playing at 60Hz !!!!!!

Like I said, I had this exact same problem with my 30.82 drivers and I solved it by applying my settings from my refreshtool.  But on these drivers, the procedure wont work !!

Help I need my 100fps back !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Some information:

*I play SOF2 MP at 800x600 with vsync on
*I have a 160Hz Maximum refresh rate monitor
*I have NV Refresh Tool 1.0
*I have WinXP and GeForce 4 MX 420
*I am PISSED OFF !!!

I used to get 100 frames with these settings and hardware and I want them back !!!!!
