Seriously, it is awsome. It has some stupid bugs (W2K/XP must run at 60 Hz), but it is everything SOF2 should have been and then some. It looks vastly superior and still the performance is excellent. The draw distance is like.....2 miles where SOF2 is like....200 feet.
You can fly planes while your buddy mans the machine gun in back, parachute out of them, drive tanks, jeeps, APC's, battleships, aircraft carriers. Fire the big artillary guns on the battleship, anti-aircraft flak guns, etc., etc.
This little MP Demo already has more servers than SOF2. I can't even take SOF2 multiplayer seriously anymore. |

It might be that i have played on sucky servers. I experiece that i very often get discoed by server. Other problems is disapearing mouse pointers, not possible to switch sides etc. Other than that i do play on servers that give me 50-100 in ping. But it might be a fault in the server setup... Ok, i might have been a little bit negative about the game, it is fun when everything works alright. I still feel that the weapons are inaccurate though...But it might be lack of experience...for instance hitting a moving target with sniper is for me a pain in the butt |

Disabling the LameSpy in-game browser stops a lot of the lag, but it's a pain and you have to rig The All Seeing Eye to find your servers. Since I did that though, I have not seen any significant lag or disconnects. How To: http://u238.fragism.com/bf1942/ |
