Make your own decision. Look at what games each system has and what ones are comming out, etc. These threads always turn into flame wars unless they are about a specific system.

I would go for PS2, it may not be the best of the systems but you do have a huge amount of games.

XBOX. period. best. system. ever. Get it NOW! now! now! Anyway it's the only system you don't need a memory card to save games too because it has a hd. And you can rip cd's to it and play 'em in games. Plus XBOX Live! launches nov 15 and it's the best online console gaming system ever!

Yeah, heard that. X Box is definently seeming the superior system! and I think Ill end up getting one of them. I already have a PS2 which I love and would never depart with.

The only thing was that I have heard (from numerous sources) people saying Gamecube is winning out of the console wars between X Box and Gamecube, but the PS2 is winning overall. That is the only reason I was wondering if Gamecube would be better to go for.

If you want stellar single and multiplayer gameplay without online capability, get a Gamecube. If you want to play 90% of your games online, get an Xbox.

And if you want the best game ever, with a guaranteed stellar online-capable sequel go with XBOX and buy Halo. Now mr. greg may say GC has better sp games and that may be true over-all we can all agree that Halo has the best SP, MP and overall graphical goodness of any console fps ever (I say it beats out all the PC fps's too)
