Can anyone make a mod that will allow peeps to type something over reg. chat like ..example ..wazza.. and a sound file from the (server and the client would have to have) would be triggered ? I know theres something like this in HL .I think that would make the game much more fun to play then just the reg. Cover me! etc..

Plz let me know if there is something already out there

There is a way and it involved modifying the male1.voice file in the mp.pk3. Open it up with a simple text editor and you should see how the messages are formatted.

<name>
{
<pathToSoundToPlay> "<Message said by player>"
}

Fill these out accordingly and bind a key to the <name>. For example, bind f3 vsay_team careful. Instead of careful put the <name> you entered.

Save this file somewhere else and then put it into a pk3 ( mp2.pk3 would probably work ). Give it to the server and everyone that is going to be playing on it and it -should- work. I am no expert on this matter but this is how I have heard for it to work.

If i were to do that would that enable all players in the server to hear it or just the team??

just the team. And i am sure that the players and server would need the file for it to work right

Ok i tried that but didnt seem to  work ..But i can go to the like the sniper file in sound\npc\col8\blakely and change that file from the Sniper! to whatever than it will play what i want it to play but the screen still says sniper and only the same team.
Editing the Male1 file does seem to work because i changed that  from..
sniper
{                                              
sound/npc/col8/blakely/sniper.mp3 "Sniper!"
}

blakely/sniper.mp3 blakely/whateverfilename.mp3

and saved it and it still says Sniper!
So does anyone know what actually tells the game where to get the sounds??
