Hey,

I'm still working on my map and everything goes fine. Well, almost everything. I am making a map for single player.

I want to hear various music/sounds in different rooms. I now activate the sounds with a trigger but I just want to hear the sound when I'm in the room without the trigger and, when the sound is done playing it will start over again.

I've tryed this with a target speaker but I couldn't get it to work. I work with mp3's. And what is the proper key for the radius of my sound?

Secondly, my sliding doors make a sound when there opening. Can I shut them up? ;)

Greetz,

Frank

woud it work by placing two triggers one at the entrance and one at the exit of the room to turn on and off the music.

The first part of the problem is solved. I used .wav instead of .mp3 and now the sounds loop forever just like I wanted to do.

But that still leaves me with the matter of the doors. Can I give every door a different sound when they open?

what i know is that it is impossible to change the sounds of the doors, they are locked in the game. for this you should write a mod. what you can do, (and what i always do) is just puting a speaker to the door, (connected) and give this the sound you want. when it's not loud enough you can place 2 or 3 of the same speakers so you don't hear the normal doorsound not that good anymore.

leon

(please let me know when you're finisht with your sp-map, i'm realy interested to see what you've made!!!!!maybe youu already can show us a screenshot??)

I almost missed this post.

You can remove the default sounds, but that would involve creating the door in a differant way (func_static), then you would have to control it from an ICARUS script.

That way you would have FULL controll of the door and sounds, but scripting can be a bit difficult to get used to.

I just wish I saw it earlier, spy.

If anyone wants to download a test map, then I could set one up. That way you will see what is involved, to change the sounds.
