Yesterday we were playing DM in Mc_Do and this guy Phobos came in and completely dominated and told us how awesome he was. The match ended and the server switched maps to Col1 and the screen said Phobos unable to connect because "unpure files detected in ---". Does this mean he was cheating or is that just a glitch? Later on in another server I saw the same message about another player when we switched maps. Anyone have any idea what this means?

Unpure files means that he's modified the original game files in some way. If a server runs in 'pure' mode (sv_pure <> 0) then anyone with unpure files can't play there. This is because modifying the files is a very easy way to cheat, an example being seeing all your enemies in bright red uniforms with arrows that point to their heads.

Who are you talking about Fragger?
I looked on c.Sports for Phobos and I found about 25 variations of the name Phobos. Within this forum I have seen several posts by a Phobos, but I couldn't tell you for sure if it is the same Phobos that played in our game.
So far, I have only come across 2 players that were unable to continue to the next map because of "unpure files detected".
Of all the SOF2 games I've played there only has been a couple of times where a player was so spectacular that cheating would be suspected. I would think "smart" cheaters would let themselves be killed once in awhile to alleviate fears that they are cheating.

probally would not have been cheeting, cause on a non pure server if u had the cheat in a seprate file it would still load ??, and not load on a pure serve but still enable u to play. either dident know what he was doing or corrupt install

I got that message to once.. I used custom skins from sof2files.com... When I deleted those I didn't get that message anymore

Thats me aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah. I dont cheat. What u talking about? I have so many custom files and few that have bugs in it so thas the problem. When you cheat doesnt matter what server you are in. Having custom files is the problem with it like cited above.
