There is a mod called Man Down, that incorporates basic bot support.

I had a go on my own server with the Mandown mod the other night,  the Bots look really good,  and work pretty well.  Theres no waypoints set for em so they just stand around waiting for you to run into em.   If you go to Mandowns site,  theirs info there on how to set up the waypoints,  in the download I think.   I dare say the modder would like the waypoints sent back to him,  to include in the download if they're any good.   The guys done an excellent job, with the bots and other changes he's made,  and he's even released the source code.

hmmm...I was really impressed with the bots in UT. I read somewhere that the bots in UT2003 are even more improved...thats frightening! But I don't think bots will ever replace human players.

the mandown bots look silly when their moving always running in to things then turning 90 degrees and starting again, but they are good in a firefight, certinly work better than the cs ones that did have waypoints

The bots were simply enabled for testing. Man Down wasn't supposed to be just a 'bot' mod. Oh well. I've had an awful lot of requests for better bot support. I'm hoping to grant that wish too. I've rigged up a way to auto-matically generate rough navigation info on any map (even randomly generated ones). I just haven't got around to making them use it. Just drops points down like a blanket, then moves down a bit filling in multiple floors as it goes, so you end up with little points all over the place declared what is a 'valid' point. The idea is that bots will only use way points to get out of trouble and figure out which way they should be heading. Apart from that, they'll move on the fly.... that's IF I can get it working. AI and path finding isn't exactly my strong point, heh.
