Raven,

Does Soldier of Fortune 2/Quake 3 engine support extended desktop configurations?

When utilizing an extended desktop configuration I receive an OpenGL subsystem error. The subsystem can not load.  I have also seen this on two other Quake 3 engine based games; Heavy Metal FAKK 2 & Quake 3 Arena.

This only occurs when set to full screen, if I switch to windowed mode it functions correctly.

Before you ask, yes, I am using the latest video drivers from the manufacturer, DirectX 8.1, etc..

Since I orignally experienced this with your product, and your people actually answer posts, versus my experiences with ID, I am posting here.

It all depends on whether your OpenGL implementation supports extended rendering... I know the Parhelia does and the G400 doesn't.

To get the (almost) correct rendering over 2 monitors

set r_mode -1
set r_customWidth 1280
set r_customHeight 480
set cg_fov 110
vid_restart

A mode of -1 means the game uses the dimensions from the custom cvars. If you're rendering at a non 4:3 aspect ratio then you'll need to alter the fov to make things not look so odd.
