MODSonline.com just launched a new member service called Member Projects. Registered members can place their current gaming projects in the list along with a progress report so the community can keep aware of its status. If you are working on a map, mod, utility, whatever, the community may want to know what's going on with it and here you can do that.

Right now we are allowing each member to record up to 3 projects. There is only a list of projects divided by category, but when the list starts filling up, MODSonline will be displaying a highlighted project each week or possibly each day on the front page. We want to make sure everyone knows what's going on.

It all starts with a click to Member Projects.

Just a thought here but maybe we shouldn't limit the projects to just games with the Q3 engine. For example I have two completely seperate projects on the go at this time. 1 with Raven Shield and the other with Operation Flashpoint. There is also another UT2k3 map that I'm working on as well.

What do you think?
I sometimes wonder... "Why is that frisbee getting larger?" .............and then it hits me.

Fox, why would you consider the limitation to just Q3? Wouldn't that be saying that MODSonline only supports the Q3 engine?

I can see now, with just a few projects list, how I need to make a few adjustments to the section....
- need to organize the lists inside of each category better or we will run out of page space very quickly
- need to add a screenshot feature so screenshots can be uploaded and saved for each project. (this one is quite important)
- need to think of the best way to highlight a random project.
- oh.. almost forgot.. gotta add the projects to the site search

Oops I guess I could have worded that a a bit different. I wasn't pointing fingers I was just making an observation that it seemed like that was the only Engine that was supported on the site. Please take no offence to that as that wasn't the intent.

Cheers

no offense taken.

It's just that I don't know much about other game engines so that is the one I write about.

I very much welcome other people coming along and offering solutions to other game engines... just that no one has come along and made such an offer.

So until that happens, I will continue to drop hints that I welcome the help with other gaming engines while telling everyone else that we specialize in the quake game engine.

I was thinking about the comments and wasn't sure how to handle that quite yet.

It will probably be something similar to the Mapping Errors section.
