Hahahahaha that job is funny as #### Andrax, I need to get one like those, but when people get TOO stupid I'd probably tell them how stupid they are my way, and that means I'd probably get fired, lol  :s19:

once it is understood then fine! I dont care how people write but fragger is constantly making jabs at ppls english!

yes. i agree in full that if understanding is achieved then who cares about semantics. on that note, i really doubt that many people here know what you meant by "lammented" without using context clues. then again, "lamented" is not a widely used word (at least in america). we could argue semantics about the choice of that word in the context in which it was used as well, but i digress.

my point is that a bit of correction here and there should not be taken as if it were a personal insult. unless the dude in question says something along the line of "it's spelled 'lamented', dumbass", then the correction should either be heeded and the original post edited, or the correction be ignored and the correctee go on with life, without lashing back.

there are several people on these boards who apologize for not knowing the english language well enough to write coherently. would these people not benefit from thoughtful correction? i liken it to letting your girlfriend know that she has a noodle of spaghetti hanging out of her nose, during a formal dinner. you tell her because you know that she would want to know that something was amiss. if she put it there on purpose, she would reply "i know" and move on. if she was a slob and didnt care if it was there, she would say "i dont care" and move on. however, if she was a tidy person she would correct it, thank the correcter, and move on. :)

anyway, i'm done with this argument. if i could spend as much time playing sof2 as i do on these boards, i'd be a much happier person. however, they look down upon playing games at work (until 5pm that is ;) )

This forum is not solely the haunt of literati.  Generally, corrections to grammar are pursuant to a garbled, twisted rant made by someone struggling to vent.

Well I never imagined I'd encounter a cerebration of linguistic communication on the subject of spelling and grammar on a game forum!
I didn't realise there was such a preponderance of syntacticians on board!
Spelling mistakes, I think, are an acceptable and inevitable constituent of such forums and I don't feel that bringing a little humour into the proceedings in any way offensive!
What is needed, however, is the occlusion of the many dysphemistic terms which litter some peoples overuse of idiolect!
Or is that just me ???
