I'm a bit of everything. If the team I join sux, the I defend, and take out as many as I can. If the team is strong I'm up there giving snipper support, if the teams are evenly matched I'm off hunting finding the best spots, blending best i can try to use camo to ots fullest. I wish the maps had more hiding placed, like the bombed buildings in MOHAA maps, I'm learning to make my own maps, to create the ultimate sniper playground one day. Some custom maps work well for us snipers. Tell us your sniping stories tactics, news, link, etc. Are there any sniper only clans? |

I’m not patient enough to be a sniper so I don’t really snipe. I find snipping a little boring when I’m snipping and inevitably get too close to the action for some fun, then die because I’m not outfitted for it.
I have nothing against snipers. It sucks when you die to them, but no more than dying any other way.
If I’m just running around behind the front line, or somewhere else that I’m not expecting to get hit, and I’m sniped, yeah it sucks, but at the same time, I shouldn’t have been moving in a straight and predictable line anyway.
If I’m sniped at the front, well, it’s a death, just like any other. Although, I think snipping at the front may be harder on some maps than others. It’s pretty easy on desert RMGs, for instance. Because everyone at the front is jumping around and running behind cover anyway. While off the front or in lonely areas, people are moving much more predictably and not expecting it. As I said, though, that’s all coming from a non-sniper, so is just my impressions.
Respawn snipers are very annoying, but so is anyone that sits in your respawn area and picks you off constantly, so clear them out of there. |

60% skill, and 40% timing....and be patient, keep you distance, take good cover, and have your no.2 ready incase you are spoted. remember greed can kill you. A good sniper in my opinior is one that lives long, with as many kills as posible ie. good ratio. A bad sniper gets killed to often and is impatient for blood. He might as well be a rocket noob. |

I'd say 100% skill:
- 95% good positioning, timing and aim
- 5% luck
I'm an impatient sniper and true enough that gets me killed a lot but please don't call me a rocket n00b or a bad sniper ok?! A good sniper is someone that helps his team by taking out as many of the enemy as possible, clearing campers and protecting you brothers and if that gets you killed then so be it. |

I need to clarify something. In team-based games, there are snipers. In DM, they're called CAMPERS for short. Or d@mn fvcking n00b lame rat bastard son of a b1tch motherfvcker campers. I've heard that and more. I don't like the sniper rifle. That doesn't mean I don't like those who use it to defend their position and their team. I like snipers. It's campers I hate. I love it when I get the flag/briefcase and i get one in the head out of nowhere. Skill rules. In DM, the sniper rifle gets you nowhere. Get moving and look for a rifle, or I'll find you and kick your camping @ss! |

There can be campers in team games too. I think a lot of it is down to how the individual acts.
Most good snipers in team-based games, from what I’ve seen, aren’t campers because they’re moving after a couple of shots. Not in the exact same place forever.
You can be a camper with any kind of gun. Snipers are more likely to be called campers because they’re sitting for long periods of time, but after a couple of shots or a kill, the good snipers are moving somewhere else, to sit and wait for awhile.
I think the two main groups of players that are likely to be called campers are snipers and people on defence. In both instances, it’s more how they act. To me a camper is more someone that finds an inaccessible place and covers the one approach angle. Col has many of these.
Nothing is funnier than a sniper that things they’re hiding, looking their scope….somewhere else. Many a time I’ve run right up to someone that’s not been paying attention to their immediate surroundings, just to kill them easily before they even move or know that I’m there. As I’ve said, I’m not a sniper, but from what I’ve seen this doesn’t happen that much to good snipers because they’re moving around a lot. It’s just that they’re going from hiding place to hiding place. |
