WARNING: POSSIBLE SPOILER

Warshaw pact soldiers carry WW2 American Greace gun submachineguns. I find that a bit strange, they should have been using AK-74s in my oppinion. But perhaps they did have Greace Guns, I doubt iit though. Anyone knows?

How can Soviet troops have an American UH-1 Huey? You are chased by a Huey in the countryside mission in the mission to extract the doctor. It should have been an Mi-2 or Mi-8 instead.

The AK-74 uses 5.56mm in SOF2, that it incorrect, in real life it uses 5.45mm ammo.
5.56mmm is NATO standard, 5.45mm is standard of Russia (and many other hostile nations). I an not sure if 5.45mm could be used in an M4, since its smaller you could put it in, but you might have trouble fireing it. Anyone knows?

In the Colombia mission the US Marines carry M4s, that is incorrect. M4s are only used by US special forces, regular Army and Marine Corps troops use the M16A2.

I also find it a bit strange that Colombian rebels have a UH-1 Huey, perhaps they stole one ;)

Prometeus uses MV-22 Osprey tiltrotors, how could they have such a new aircraft? I beleive its not even in active service and you don't just go to Boeing and buy the most advanced military tiltrotor.
Their version is also armed (AV-22? :) ), to my knowledge no armed version of it exists.
BTW some people refer to it as a helicopter, it is NOT a helicopter, it is a tiltrotor. Technically a plane that can land like a helicopter. So a bit like the Harrier, but a transporter not an attack plane.
Also note the V in its designation, also used by the Harrier in US service: AV-8.

In the Dagastan mission the Russian soldiers use some American equipment, which is very odd. They should have been using Russian weapons. Like a SVD Druganov instead of M24, Russian shotguns, etc.

How come the RPG-7 is not found anywhere in the game?

Some comments on the mission in the airliner in Switserland. Its widely known that shooting aboard an airplane is not something smart to do. Oh well I can live with small arms fire, but you can (and the badguys do it too) even use grenades there! That is a bit rediculous as any grenade explosion on board would make the plane crash. Noone would use grenades on board a plane unless he wants to bring it down (remember the terrorist with C4 in his shoes?).

"Why do (Russians, Americans, rebels) carry (American, Russian, etc.) equipment?"

Sometimes you have to sacrifice realism at the altar of gameplay. Believe me, Mr. Mullins properly instructed us as to who would use what. We could've done that, but it made the game more interesting to see more weapons in each level than to only have Prague guards using AK's, for example.

"Everyone knows the AK-74 uses 5.45mm, not 5.56mm. Boy did Raven miss that one."

This is my personal favorite. Again, our information was from Mr. Mullins himself. He told us that AK's are often re-tooled to use 5.56mm ammo because, as you yourself said, it's a NATO round so it's very widespread and easily accessible.

"How did (Russians, terrorists, rebels, etc.) get a Huey?"

We had to get the game done on time and fit it onto two CDs. The only way that could happen was by cutting a few corners. Need a helicopter in a level? Reuse an existing model, maybe put a different skin on part of it. It doesn't take more time for your modellers and doesn't take up more CD space.

I could go on, but you get the point. There are a lot of things we could do differently, especially with Mr. Mullins' input, but we make certain choices because that's what you have to do to make a game.

How do Al-Qaeda terrorist scum, who primarily live in tents and caves get ahold of nuclear weapons? If they can do this in real life, Warsaw pact soldiers can get ahold of grease guns in a game.  :s10:

Btw, both North and South Vietnamese used the M3A1 grease gun during the Vietnam war.

I see your points. But are weapon models that difficult to make? For a Russian sniper rifle/shotgun/whatever you could just give it a diffirent graphic and maybe diffirent sound.

As it is a game, the AK-74 could just be using 5.45mm and let the player pick up that ammo to be used in his M4.

Or

At AK-74 info in the game/manual add some text like: "Although the AK-74 is 5.45mm, many are re-tooled to fire 5.56mm ammo". That would cleared that out to everyone playing the game and you wouldn't have heard the question at all ;)

As for the helicopters, there could have been lets say an Mi-8 instead of the Huey (so you wouldn't have to make the Huey) and use the Osprey for the goodguys, after all the Marines do have the Osprey (flight testing, it will be in service in 2005).
I think its possible to mount an M60 in an Osprey.
But thats just my oppinion.

For the rest I love the game, the only thing I missed story-wise was that you didn't go to the Prometeus HQ to take them out.
When I finished the game somehow I got the idea I wasn't done yet, that there might still be some of those Prometeus basterds out there :)

Oh BTW why did you let Taylor die? :(
Its the second time Mullins sidekick gets killed, now noone will wants to be his sidekick in the future because then you get killed :)

It does say this; in the weapon description I think.
