I haven't tried it, but that was one of the things I asked for.
As I understand it (I may be wrong) the purpose is to allow new gametypes to use entities for other gametypes, so that you can use existing maps if your gametype is not too dissimilar from an existing one.

I'm gonna give it a try when I've time this weekend.   Its exactly what I'm after for my mod.  

I want to use existing DM maps without having to change the code.   If it doesn't work I'm gonna have to change g_main.c to allow me to use the DM Gametype maps.

The Setgametype section doesn't follow the comments, by the way.  Since the Patch, it now defaults to Demolition not DM, if it doesn't find a supported gametype

Yes, by setting "basegametype" "inf" in the gametype file.

Thx teddy, another problem in my gametype is it also needs
the inf objective pictures. My script has the same photos
lines but it wont get the pictures of the official maps to show.

Unfortunately, I don't believe that there's a way to do that.
You'd pretty much have to release objective photos for as many maps as you could with your mod, since the objective photo names contain the gametype abbreviation which is apparently not handled by the basegametype tag.
