What you mention sounds like it should all be done from the Z axis (up and down) and not from the side. I don't know why you would want to do this from the side.

River channels are not flat on the sides. Just trying to make it look real as I can. Will try to have some screenshots later.

Terrain building with this version of SDK is great. Some things you need to watch for. While painting terrain the brush or brushes that are selected can move on you and get out of place. So keep an eye out for that. The undo option works pretty well while painting terrain.
Another thing the Smooth and Flatten option work quite well.
Play with the settings on amplitude etc. Sometimes smaller is better. hehe
I have also noticed that stitching patches together does not hold all the time. Sometimes you have to move the brush and restitch. Sometimes the Smooth option with close the gap. Hopefully I will have my riverbed finished in a few days and I will post up a screenie.

Next time you see it try the Smooth option on it and see if it closes it up. Then paint some height on it.

I have the river bed (and it's deep lol) nearly finished. What I am having problems with are matching the river banks up with the brush next to it perfectly. I get it looking good in the 3d window but when testing ingame I can see the line. The only recourse's are to make and blend those two textures together or just make a wooden or cobblestone walkway along the river. The latter would probably be the best.

I think I know the line you speak of. I haven't tried getting rid of it, but I thought it had something to do with fitting the texture correctly on the terrain.

Actually it is where the standard brush and the terrain patch meet. I can't get a good fit there. I think I will just cover it up with a walkway or something. Another thing that is going to be fun is to try and get water in the river. lol Since none of the river is flat. Got a good idea for the bridge structure though. Paint some hills where the pylons will be and then flatten them.

I have used easygen. The common testures are there so there is not a problem importing. The problem comes in that every poly created in easygen imports as a 3dbrush AND is considered an entity by radiant.

Follow the terrain tutorial... it works best

Has anyone tried blending three terrain meshes? Can this be done Wyatt? Three meshes in one spot. Choose the solid then choose the blend mesh that you want. It seems that there is no problem with two occupying the same space why not three or more. Haven't tried it yet but just thought of it.
