I just turned 30 about a week back, and man I got a weak back  :s5:

Here's what I been doin to pass the time while waiting for the patch.  Download Grokster, its one of those file sharing programs, and you can download all those sierra games from waaaaay back in the day.  I got all the space quests, king's quests, and leisure suit larrys now and am having a ball.  (patch??? what patch??? what day is this?????)

some people would argue that this is stealing the games, but sierra has looooooong since fired the makers of these games and have gone in an entirely different direction so I don't think I'm hurting anyone at all.  You can't buy these games anywhere anyway.

I'm running a 900 mhz compaq with 256k ram and the games work great.  Its a huge flashback to watch those ega/vga graphics and that tinny music coming outta my speakers, but it almost brought a tear to my eye with the memories :(

Yeah I still play those old games too.

Im 22, and started playing computer when I was 7 on a c64. Boy, there were great games on the c64. California Games, Zak MacKracken, etc............ In 1990 I got my first pc. I will never forget playing games like Indy 4 or Monkey Island 2, or Falcon 3.0. ####ing classic games. I still have all my games I ever bought, including the boxes. Proud collection of over 300 games including c64 and pc.

Back then the game makers were FORCED to put good cotents into a game, cause they couldnt distract with graphics. Another good thing was that they werent really alot of buggy games, since they didnt have a chance to give patches out. The Police Quest Series was excellente too. I only have some probs with speed, since some games run too fast on my system. So Im still using my 33mhz comp with 16mb ram and a svga card WOHOOOO. I doubt that you will find many peeps on the board who still know these highlights of gaming history.

Im not really complaining either abou todays pcs. Cdroms are alot more comfortable, plus you dont have to #### around with the autoexec.bat or config.sys these days. Besides they didnt have magic pcs back then  :s10:

There was one game that stands out, called Street Rod, i still have the floppy disks for it, but they are corrupt i think...

This game was my favourite, used to buy cars and parts, then race others for money or pink slip to their car, eventually building up the supreme street race car, and having to race against the black corvette... So cool...
