I know that I am not the only one who is having these type of problems. My machine WILL not run the single player version for any playable length of time without locking up and forcing me to reboot my computer. Yet the multi-player runs without a hitch.
I have been combing this message board for weeks trying to justify my $50.00 purchase of this game so I can play it. However, the only solutions provided are the generic pass the buck back to the users responses like "its your the drivers", "it is your RAM sticks", "your CPU temp is too high" . . .
I have tried everything (even reinstalling my OS fom XP to 2000 and it still locks up)
How can a company take $50.00 from a customer and refuse to recognize the problem? It seems to me like the arrogant attitude taken by the board moderator is the norm around here and nothing is being done except for more buck passsing. How easy is it to blam the user's machine? Reinstall drivers? what kind of half-a**ed response is that?
Lets be serious . . this is not an isolated problem that one or two people are having. It seems to be that any of the problems come from people with
1. An AMD Athlon Processor 2. A version of Windows with the NT kernal (2000, XP)
It seems like a common thread that would lead any logical person assume that there is a problem with the game itself. Why is everyone here and at Raven in denial.
Also, don't expect the patch to solve any solutiuons, because it is essentially a multi-player patch, and if it did address issues like this, our arrogant moderator would tell us it would instead of constantly dosging the issue.
Excuse me if I come off nasty, but how can anyone fault me or any gamer for it when we plucked down hard earned cash for this game, and spent countless hours of our free time to get it to work with no solution. |

Well sorry to hear you have that problem with the game, but since i had once a similar problem with the single player i think i should share it with you. Well i formatted my PC, installed everything as allways(SP2, DX, patches, etc), i'm using windows 2000 btw, and then SOF2...Well, so far so good, then i start the game, and load the first mission , but then the game crashed with an error message(common windows 2000 error message). Well then i tried the training mission and it worked, but when i tried to quit the game, crashed again . The rest of the SP missions won't work either . MP worked fine, no problems at all. Well i spent almost one day trying to find out what was wrong...i thought that i should reformat againg but that was i just did before hmmm, then i noticed that some other programs were not workin either, like ICQ. Finally i found the problem...my windows clock was not set properly(yeah this one ...)it was set at the wrong year! think it was 2049 or something , i just set it back to 2002 and voila...SOF2 SP working fine, ICQ workin fine...da*n i was about to kill my PC with the biggest hammer i have lol..and well, i have no idea how the date in the clock was not set right...but that solved my problem, and it's worth checking it in my opinion. Hope your problem gets sorted soon aswell good luck. |

| Quote (Andrax @ July 08 2002, 11:52 am) | Well, again I must point out that if you would glance through your DOCUMENTATION that came with the game you would notice that...
ACTIVISION is responsible for SUPPORT related to SOFII. The support offered here is a bonus. So I guess, if you don't feel like your getting where you want to go here... maybe you should try the company thats ACTUALLY responsible for providing you with SUPPORT.
Call me crazy... |
You mean to tell me that if the guys at Raven cannot help solve my problem, then the people at Activision will be any help?
That was the funniest thing I have heard all day. |

The single player runs fine for me. |
Maybe I can compare our systems, they are pretty similiar. . .
What version of the NVIDIA detonator drivers are you using?
Also, which VIA driver set are you using? |
