I'm having trouble with my textures I made, this started when I got an e-mail from a friend of mine that had an attachment and it needed to open with a vbs file, I didn't know exactly what is was, so I opend it on this path, C:/Program files/raven/STVEF/baseEF/textures/panama, just to see what it would look like in EFR  :s27: if it was like a picture or something, but now for some strange reason all of my textures I made are becoming vbs files instead of JPG's, so everytime I change the name to JPG, and I log off my Windows and log back on, it changes back to a Vbs file :s14: what's wrong?

at a guess i'd say you've got a virus. .vbs files are viual basic scripts and are a common way of transferring virii around the net. get a good,up to date virus checker on your machine ASAP

For future reference, never open a .vbs file unless your virus checker is as up-to-date as possible...

I'm quite surprise you try to open a .vbs files!

Texture are in : .jpg, .tga and for FAKK2/EF2 in .ftx.

You got a virus. Never open a files with a extension you dunno.
Good luck to get back your own picture...

as what was said, vbs is a visual basic file. visual basic is a programming code. Hackers can program viruses in visual basic and attempt to disguise them. Always keep a antivirus program running. Norton antivirus has e-mail protection so it scans everything coming in. And seriously, don't open any program that you think is suspicious. And one final word, .vbs files are never textures. You will never need to open textures using .vbs.

D'oh!

Ouch, I hate to hear stuff like that.

Go here, Chang: http://housecall.antivirus.com/housecall/start_pcc.asp

That should find your virus right away.  If it can't get rid of the virus, it should at least give you the name of the virus.  Then, go here: http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/vinfodb.html/ search for that virus, and the directions on how to kill it.

Do this ASAP, before any of your other files get infected...
