I have Geforce4 ti 4400 that I'm overclocking to 4600 levels.  I'm running the game at 1024 X 768, and I still drop into the 25-30 fps in some maps when there are a lot of people.  Shouldn't I be getting better fps?

I feel like I'm only doing a little better than with my Geforce2 Pro

I'm running Direct X 8.1 and I have the latest Nvidia drivers.  I have a 1.4 gig Athalon, 512mb ram, XP etc...


I have some questions that I would love to get answered, and remember this is multiplayer only:

1-The video section says I'm running Open GL should I be?  Are there new drivers for that?  Can I change to something else?

2-Should I lower some of the video settings?  (this seems like b.s. since my card is overclocked to the same speed as the best card you can buy, the 4600)

3-I have a utility called "Powerstrip" that I'm using to overclock.  It has some check boxes under the category Open GL what do they do and should I check them:
-enable vertical sync
-use fast linear mipmap filtering
-force anisotropic flitering
-force full screen anti-aliasing

4-Any other tweaks?

download the SOFII settings.  They are for SP, but there are setting in there for the video section of your video card.  It includes changes to OpenGL.

That should help you out.

you could also download the Nvidia Detonator drivers... those improve your preformance alot... and also has OpenGL included..

i got everything maxed in mp
iget between 65&125 fps(ave is 85)

type /com_maxfps 125 or whatever you want. Your card should be abkle to handle it. I have a ti4600 and my graphics are at 11280x1024 and I get great fps and would never complain about slow fps. Update your drivers for your vidcard and your mobo driver should it be an VIA chipset donwload 4.40 from VIA webswite.

My GeForce 3 Ti200 works wonderfule for me in this game.  I get great FPS.

I agree, it might be just lag...or maybe you have antialiasing activated(check it out in your display adapter's properties, in windows). Also try not using any anysotropic filtering and just select bilinear or trilinear, anisotropic filtering is a big performance hit in GF4 TI's due to a little bug in the drivers if i'm not wrong(it's supposed to be fixed in future drivers).
Be sure u try the latest detonator drivers, the ones fron www.nvidia.com should work perfectly on a GF4 TI, they do in my TI 200.
