Hi All,

I just wanted to once again thank everybody for all the help & effort during my first map build - especially MooseMan! :) Thanks buddy!

Anywho, during my build, I have come realize that my version of GTK (even though the same download) is very different from Moose's version and probably many others.

I would like to ask all of you what version's you're all using and which is the most stable for Win XP?

Thanks again for all your help and stay tuned for a DM Map of the M*A*S*H 4077th!!!

I don’t think there is a windows XP version of GtkRadiant.

I am using version 1.2.13 (when I am working with patch meshes); version 1.3.12 (because it uses the “angles” key correctly and has a better layout) and I have just started to use version 1.3.13 (no comments on this one yet).
Since version 1.2.13 is the latest stable version, I would say use this one. [wink]

I only use 1.2.13 for SoF2 because if I want to use any of the prefabs I have created then I can only do that in 1.2.13

All newer versions won't let me grab a .pfb insert a prefab

i use 1.2.13 too. lately i downloaded 1.3.12 (1.3.13 corrected 16 bit desktop crash). only for testing if you can better merge curves (will see).

my method to create complex curve shapes.

1. lets say you have a curve (choose an even Grid size and make the surface natural!)
and want make a pipe with multi-roundings you will get
problems merging several curves (BobToolz). it allows you only to merge simple and few curves.

2. So i insert rows or cols (dunno the difference to 'add')
and drag in some Vertices with the mouse cursor (thats better than the 'Patch Bend Mode').
that way you can take the Vertices rough to their needed positions.
btw: you can control where the Vertices will be inserted. just select a Vertice and 'insert'.

Maybe they haven’t got the angles right. I just know that the X Y or Z values seem to work on my computer. What I see in the editor, is what I see in the game, so its progress.
I still recommend version 1.2.13 (stable version) as the later versions have had the patch mesh option removed in surface inspector. [ohwell]

@ SpecialEd...

By using prefab i assume you mean they have the extension *.pfb.

To use them in a later version just rename them to *.map in explorer and they should load fine.

Hi All,

I must apologize. I was very frustrated when I started this thread and I was very vague with the issues I've been having with GTK.

Anywho, I appreciate all the input but I wound up having to uninstall everything, even SOFII. I realized I had major problems when I tried compiling a map and the shader list for SOF II became corrupt. I don't think I had the latest update for GTK but everything is working great now!

Thanks!
