i started out as pacifist[SpB], but for sof2 i felt i needed a facelift. i mean, pacifist is a good name for a war game and all, but i've had it for what's going on 5 years now. i'm still referred to as "pacifist" or "pac" in my clan and online.
"a cat who is a vigilante" comes about as a result of my love for the under-appreciated Tom Green movie, Freddy Got Fingered. If you don't mind the wretched parts of it that depict crude acts with animals, it is a hilarious gem of Tom Green's work.
The plot in the movie is rather non-existant, save for the fact that Green's character, Gord, is an aspiring animator on a quest to become famous "like Charles Schultz". Anyways, one of his characters is "X-Ray Cat", a cartoon cat who wears a too-small t-shirt, a pair of underwear briefs, and a tied-on cape. his power is that he can see through wooden doors. Tom does a hilarious monologue on X-Ray cat at the very beginning of the movie, and then later on describes X-Ray Cat to the animation studio as "a cat... who is a vigilante".
so my name is rather unoriginal to those who know its background, but it stuck when i tried it out one day. |

| Quote (The Guvner @ July 03 2002, 09:39 am) | It's a name I used many moons ago and has now stuck. It doesn't actually refer to any film, book or album from my particular point of view. However, thinking more about it, I do tend to have a habit of calling people Guv. ....perhaps that's where the idea came from.
Mind you with my current SOFII skills, perhaps I should change my name to :-
Bullet Catcher I promise to die quickly Custodian of the Dead Players Lounge. |
LOL!
in Snatch they called BrickTop "guv'na".. that's what i would have guessed |

My name, SpaceMaN, comes from the name of my favorite 8th grade English teacher whose name was Spacek. Me and my friends thought he was so cool, that amongst ourselves, we called him "spaceman" One day, when my friend wasn't playing soldier of fortune II online, he left it on, and i typed in spaceman as my name. I thought it was cool, so i kept it. I came up with the idea of the capital letters whilst staring at the Microsoft DirectX configuration app, and noticing that all of the parts of DirectX 8.1 had multiple capital letters in thier name. I typed it in... And it Stuck! |
