You may want to take alook a Viewsonics.  They're made in China (not sure if it's the Red one, or Taiwan); anyway, several of them have Sony Trinitron guts (under license) in them for quite a bit less than a Trinitron.  Try Computer Shopper.com they have tons of computer hardware, including many many monitors.  From cheap to Holy s*&t in price.  Good luck.  PS: if you have any of the $600.00 left over, I still need a few bucks to get my flying saucer off the ground.  I'd be willing to put your name on the side of it, right behind mine, if you're interested!------------Ahh, I didn't think you would.   :s24:

Something flat and something no less than a 19inch.

Tho my neighbor got a flatscreen and it looks cool but the highest he can set the res to is 1024x768...Screw that.

Whatever you get, i'd reccommend used all the way...   i got my phillips for 85 bucks, and it cost 500 originally.

If you're willing to spend the money you might be able to find one kick*** monitor, i saw a few made specifically for graphics design type stuff, 40 inch plasma flatscreen, 2000somethinx1900somethin max res       now that's nice  :s28:

Does it have to be a Flat screen? If so select on that has the digital vga in, d-sub on flat screen is a waste. I still prefer CRT monitors as they have better resolution and refreashrates, (but the expensive flat screens are really cool, good quality and expensive). You get more inches for you buck, and once you've seen the big picture there is no turning back, especially for games. IIyama and Mitsbishi have the Best tubes, and some models even have a USB hub built on them like the IIyama vision Master pro 451 series 19" and its big brother 22". Think like a American and get the biggest monitor, it's worth it.

Read as many reviews as you can on the net as well, make a criteria list to tick off your needs.
