ok, ok... IR that uses low light amp... low light amp that utilizes IR... wtf...
who cares!!! they don't bloody work!!!
i've stopped playing this game until the patch comes out. i'm outside a hut with a guy in it in a heavy snowfall, with another guy patrolling outside the hut... i just parachuted in.
on this level, low light/IR/thermal amp gogs would be absolutely cool. but, as they are they're shite.

i guess i'll just have to put up with that awfully boring game known as neverwinter nights until raven sort this out...

real men of genius :s27:

Dude it is playable. have you tried the fog off cheat?. to reduce fade out?. the enemys see u but you cant see them prob'. i did'nt NEED!! NVG's till much later in the game. ues your OICW and walk slowly to keep the scope up, the threat indicater is a bit slow but works...

PS... use your knife on the back of those two dudes necks and the alarms wont go off...the one outside first...

Most NVGs have a limiter that prevents blinding glare from things like flashbangs, muzzle flashes, and sudden lights.

The thermal goggles are super-useful on night RMG maps.

Alrighty, peeps...
I'm in the military (No, I'm not OLD, for that LAST TIME!;) and in REAL LIFE, NVG's friggin' RULE.  Of course...I only got to play with a set for like...a MINUTE before they took'em away...(They're expensive, too)

When I put them on, I could see pretty much EVERYTHING (Green of course), but I wouldn't suggest running with them, because depth perception leaves a little to be desired.

As far as sensitivity is concerned, any plastic, or metal that any of the soldiers in my company were wearing stood out like a SORE THUMB.  It was almost distracting, but I believe it was so obvious because it was a moonless night therefore making the reflection of light off objects in the dark more inconsistent with the overall ambient light in the woods that night.

Raven REALLY did mess up when they programmed these things, 'cuz I could sure as heck see a lot further than 8 ft in front of me...but hey, the rest of the game (MOST of the time) was pretty sweet, so I'll let it slide until the patch comes out.  If they don't address this among other things, THEN I'll be pretty upset.

I'd like to see the NVG get further range and be affected by muzzel fire, as thats probably what happens in RL

yeh, i just upgraded my pc and am waiting with baited breath for the patch. altho i got SoF2 running ok in 800x600 32bit on my old 750, i'm hoping it'll run faster on a 1.8g... but from what i've heard from this forum, ppl with 2.2g , GF3 pcs have been having probs. my old GF2 w/o anisotropic filt enabled runs ok...

btw, i lurve the thermal gogs. useless range but it's so cool seeing thru walls. this game is just so good but could be so much more. in Op Flashpoint the gogs in that let you see almost as far as normal vision so why would raven make them so pitiful?
bah! humbug!
where are the little men to fix the bugs in thses games? where are they?

nd one more thing... this mullins guy? for such an expert how come he's only got 2 purple hearts? i mean,  doesn't that sound like he shot himself in the foot or something at the start of the mission, but his gravelly, world weary voice made him seem like a true blue hero? i could say, well, he was working undercover as a special ops guy so he couldn't accept the normal awards other soldiers get, but that is pure bollox.
2 poiple hearts, eh?
mmmmmm...
