what do i do when i run the checker and the file sizes are wrong?

Copy the incorrectly sized files from the game CD into the directory where the wrong file is. RE-run the utility again then until it comes up with a Ok result for all files.

all my pk3 files are a small amount short of the sizes they're supposed to be but my game work's fine in SP and MPlyr. i think if all your files are only slightly diiferent in size then that could be because of the way the bits and bytes are counted. like, a 525mb hdd[in the old days] didn't have 525mb but more like 510mb. i don't know the details of this exactly cos it;'s been a long time since i did a computer course... butit's somthing about there not being 500 bits in a byte but 512, just like there's not 1000 mb in a Gig but 1024mb... i think [?]. of course, i could be completely wrong [very likely] and SoF2 is going to crash just as i am about to face the big bad guy at the end of the game... i dunno... don't ask me... i only came here to find a way to fix those bloody useless IR goggles.

actually, i've been comparing my pk3 files to the list here [in someone's post] and they are different but, i've just compared them to the file sizes on the SoF2 play CD and they match... i'll get my coat

Sounds like you have a virus. If the file sizes are correct on the cd but wrong on your HD then you probably have a virus.
