...then why does he always pick up dead bodies during firefights?

Is there any way I can turn off the "automatic use" function (like when I walk into a door and it automatically opens or when I pick up a dead body every time I stop over it)?

Thanks in advance for any help.

I have no bloody clue what you are talking about. Maybe your "use" key is stuck or something, but theres no such automatic body pick up or door opener.

You're "using" too much the "USE" key. You press it accidentally too much or your keyboard is screwed. Your issue is not normal.

Hmm I think I kind of know what he's on about. Happens to me alot. Basically you're in a fire-fight with soldiers and you want to quickly lean around cover and rattle some shots off, so to do it easily you hold enter down and press left or right, but if any corpses  are near you you'll pick them up instead.
However it's just unlucky if this happens and has nothing to do with John Mullins being a veteran or there being an automatic use key setting (which there isn't). Frankly I just think your enter key is screwed, try cleaning it or getting a new keyboard.

My keyboard has worked fine, but there is some sort of "automatic use" function - I cleared out ALL the binds and re-bound everything, yet whenever I "bump" into a door or a switch or a body, I "use" it.  Very obnoxious...

Hmm...all the above, really: might your sweaty palm be brushing the space bar too? I've sometimes had the same but only when in a "feeding frenzy". Re-binding mid game may help...

Kind of unlikely - not a big issue, 'cause after I beat this game I'm probably never going to play it again.  They should've spent more time on common sense issues than the gore (example: randomly spawning enemies just to keep you moving? Enemies who always know where you are, even when you're walking around on a freight ship in the middle of a storm, where they wouldn't be able to hear you? please.)
