My guess it is data's second attempt at creating a sentient android. And instead of having the android live its own life, which he failed at before, he made and exact copy of himself. From the trailer I'm speculating that this attempt while more sucessful than the first will end up with the same result in the end.

If I only had to consider my own enjoyment, I'd love to hear everything anybody knows about the movie. However, I also have to consider my fiance, and I'm afraid five and a half months is a long time to try to keep my mouth shut about it. Therefore, as curious as I am, I'm going to have to make myself wait until December...

The Soong-android in question has the sobriquet "B-9 (Benign)" because of his rather docile nature. And for your information, Data wasn't the one who constructed him, it was Noonian Soong, Data's creator. Also, Lore was dismantled after the events of "Descent", and after the destruction of the Enterprise-D...his components were mostly likely sent to the Daystrom Institute. So please, don't come here talking #### to me kid- next time try to show some respect instead of showing your arse.
