    Once again I did another installation of SOFII on a machine that I just built. Here are the specs:

Asus P4S533
Intel 2.0a Proc.
512 Megs Ram
2 ( 60 gig ) Drives ata 100.  Have no clue why he got 2.  C drive nevers needs more the 7, 15 Max..
Ti4600 Asus 128
Fresh Windows XP install

Once the machine was operational.  Installed the driver from Nvidia that they ship with the card.  28.80s.  Also, downloaded the 29.42s, but wanted to test SOF II with the defaults.

Guess what .. MP is a dream!  SP starts and then starts to skip during car ride and then.............  REBOOT! Tada.. What a feat that is.. I wish I could write a script that would do that.  I would send it out in a bunch of emails to all you people who have bad mouthed me in the games, saying I use aim-bots.  I have no freaking Idea what or how to get an aim-bot.  I was born to snipe

Regardless.  As people have stated.  With something as lite as this machine.  With no ability for rogue dlls, corruption or crap, plus having all the updates for winXP.  

No go.....  We MUST wait for the patch.  There is nothing that can be fixed once you have removed all the possibilites for a problem.  In this case, there is nothing on the machine to cause a problem.

Hope the patch comes out soon.  Above all I hope it solves all these issues.  Otherwise, I fear for Ravens lives.  To have problems after the game is out and need a patch is ( acceptable ).  For us to tweak and change and rebuild and update and reinstall OSs and then get the patch and still not have it work. ( not acceptable )

Disable XP's auto-reboot feature - System Properties, Advanced tab, Startup & Recovery, Untick Automatically Restart.

See what dll or whatever the BSOD points to.

But mostly, the single player runs in the 40's to 50's with literally everything maxed and using quincunx.

At certain high intensity moments, with max settings, you get the above framerates.  But the game has never crashed for me.

If you turn off occluded flares, go to blob shadows and cull fog, then the game runs nicely at 50fps with few dips into the 30's.

just as long as you don't save within a minute of your last save or use EAX sound...


But if you want  this game to look good when you play it get a geforce 4

some sound card maybe ok, but you can't expect every card to be checked...
