####...  I was really hoping that extra 265MB of DDR Ram was gonna do it... But I was wrong.

I now have 512MB RAM and crap framerate.  What to do... what to do...

BTW, I was watching a video interview on Gamespot, and this guy was showing off SOFII, while still beta or something, and he was in this columbia level with TONS of trees and grass and everything, with not one hint of slowdown what so ever!!

I really wish Raven would tell us exactly what is in each of their machines.  I think it might possibly have something to do with a sound card.  Seems like we all have Sound Blaster Live!  Or something close to it.  RAVEN!!  Please!!  Throw me a bone here!

Lets face it...

they wouldn't be using a mid range machine to show how great their lastest and greatest on.

you know it will be the dogs...

geforce 4 and none of that mx crap, it's the only way to go...

sad but true

it will only get worse yet...

NOTE: Single Player Soldier of Fortune II: Double Helix is a resource-intensive application. It is not going to run as fast as Soldier of Fortune II multiplayer, Jedi Outcast or Star Trek: Voyager - Elite Force. The model detail, texture detail and general world detail is unprecedented compared to other Quake III: Team Arena engine
games. Though fully scalable, Soldier 2 was designed with cutting edge hardware and future hardware in mind. Some detail settings are unplayable on current systems.

Multiplayer is faster than Single Player because it doesn't have the AI code, ICARUS 2, glass manager and a number of other SP systems and it also has a limited player model set. Certain graphical options were limited in MP for the sake of performance and networking, which is why there are speed differences between the two games.

I play in columbia all the time, graphics at max, 800x600 res without a hint of slowdown, constantly between 59 and 60 fps (i got it limited at 60). The lowest framerate i've ever seen was in the mid 30s with the res at 1600x1200, a chopper shooting at me in columbia, with 6 or 7 enemies shooting at me and grenades exploding....

the best part?  my system only cost about $550 bucks, Including the new monitor.
