Quote | I kid you not...we have run SOF2 on about 4 dozen P3 and P4 machines at Raven and QA has run it on at least 8 different AMD machines and we have not seen performance problems like you're reporting here. If we could run debug code on just one machine that has these issues we could probably figure out something but we just can't reproduce it. The only things I can think of are to have a problematic machine shipped to us or (as was suggested here and borders on ludicrous) go to CompUSA or Best Buy and test the game on every machine until we get one that doesn't perform properly and then buy it. Since these are the lengths to which we'd have to go to further research this situation I'd say we're just about out of options.

If you don't post your specs, yes, you have a "special ,one of a kind mystery enigma machine unlike any others produced on the planet earth". They've sold MILLIONS of copies. And you can't get yours to work. And you think Raven has to drop everything to help YOU. You must be CRAZY. Or Freakaloin. |

Dude! You got a Dell! Dell Sucks. That's your problem. Brand name computers are assembly-line made. That means they assume they work fine, when they don't. Also, they have many components built into the MB. That's bad for performance. When you buy a brand name computer, you're paying for the name, not the system. It's like buying one of those sandwiches at 7-Eleven. You don't know what's in them. They give you a list of ingredients, but they don't tell you they're giving you the cheapest stuff possible. Return it if you still can and go to your neighborhood mom and pop computer store and have them build one for you according to YOUR specs. You'll get a kick-a$$ system and save a lot of money in the process. If you can't return it, Think about this when you get a new system. Also, think about this: Your money was used to pay that REALLY irritating dork in the Dell commercials. That sucks. Also, don't get mad at me. I just told you the way it is. |

believe me if i knew then what i know now about pcs i never would have bought one,,,, but thats neither here nor there... the game proports to run at specific and very clearly defined specs...which i CLEARLY exceed i didnt see the sticker on the box that said not for use on dell systems..... as for ramrods offer.. Quote | This is the deal...you pay to ship it here (to me) and I will work with someone at raven on this. (I'll keep his name private for now) If it turns out to be your rig, you pay to ship it back as well. If it turns out to be a game problem, PERHAPS Raven could be convinced to pay the shipping costs. I can't speak for Raven at this time however I did talk to a Raven employee who was appreciative of my offer to help and indicated he would personally cover that expense if it came to that.
Again, I'm going out on a limb here in making this offer but I would like to see this resolved one way or another and I have a Raven employee to back me up. Probably more than 1 but that's who I talked to when I made this offer to Kaaos. If this interests you, let me know and I will pursue it. If not, I understand. I'm only trying to help here and I am a professional when it comes to computers and this Raven employee is a professional when it comes to this game.
Again, I emphasize I am NOT speaking for Raven officially here.

oh that's right fragger, don't make any fuckin effort to think of an intelligent response; just spew out any garbage that comes to your peanut mind; like blaming Dell- I'm so sure that you are that much better of a computer builder than they are since your company is sooo far ahead of them in every way possible- heh NOT! I think you need to get the #### out of this forum and get back to the drawing board with your weak ass maps and your "I love myself" attitude; we don't care about you ar your crappy input and we sure as #### don't need your advice with this issue- Get lost!
