I'm a 'NP 8456' thats number pad 8456. Personally I like to user the symetric key layout of the number pad for my main movement and other assignmemts. What do you use..joystick users needs not apply. :s10:

I agree with you there.  I just wish there were more surrounding keys.  I don't know, I just couldn't get used to 'wasd'

esdf moves; a jumps; mouse2 crouches; xv leans
mwheelup primary weapon; mwheeldown previous weapon; mouse3 grenade; mouse4 secondary fire

It's better than WASD.  You have more keys to press, and you're right in place for typing.  I used to use four arrow, but that put my hands too close together ... switched when Tribes 2 came out and used the ESDF layout.

Anyone using WASD should give it a try sometime.

i dont know how you guys use those keys that are so close together, arrows for me folks, pgup pgdn = lean left and right,
enter = walk toggle , ctrl = jump, shift = crouch, 0 on the num pad is my night vision. i just like the space plus its easy to differentiate between keys. gonna try 0 on the num pad for crouch tonight i dont know why i didnt do that sooner.  :s17:

I previously used the NP 8246 and 5 for center or open, but I got so bothered from having to have my keyboard off to the side that I taught myself WASD.

You would be supprised how easy it is to switch.

S = strafe left, D = strafe right, F = forward, G = backward.

Weapon keys and other binds are clustered around on QWERTAZXCVB, etc.  This lets me never have to lift a finger to go from forward to backward.. every millisecond counts  :s10:
