Quote (dysfunctional @ June 25 2002, 06:22 am) | There are threads upon threads from Raven in this forum twice as in depth as the pap you wrote!! |
Yes, this explains why Raven have linked to all the guides I've posted up for their games in the respective game faqs. Tell you what, point out a better tribes 2 guide, or soldier of fortune.. whatever guide. Or better yet as I've already said YOU write a better one instead of nagging about ads, which is all you've done. I mean, you've been some thorough with your help, such as the incorrect way to load up some Hong Kong level. I'm sure you can write a long tome to put me to shame. |

Bump this thread? How can I bump it, it was made a "sticky" after I posted it by someone - perhaps they also found it unhelpful too & thought, hey lets make them suffer.
Anyway, I tire of arguing silly points with you - you complain about the guide yet the only thing you actually moan about are the ads. If you have a POINT about wrong stuff in the guide then make it. I for one hate making errors & if you have any I'll fix them as I already did after John Scott pointed out some stuff to me. So why don't you actually reply with some errors rather than nagging about ads - which have nothing to do with me & actually point out problems - & not subjective ones at that.
As regards the support, I may not have replied to many here but I sure did after the guide got posted (Emailed in). As for the newbie poster? What sorta point is that, you've only been around since May, those extra few weeks really must make some difference, yawn. Now back to the point, if there's a specific error point it out, otherwise stop whinging with your vagueness |

Quote (dysfunctional @ June 25 2002, 3:56 pm) | I am sure everyone was staggered by your NVmax information. |
You're bumping it too by replying, not that much either as its a sticky. As regards NVmax, so what? The info. posted is correct thats what fast writes does & he wasn't specific about anything else, I pointed out I'd covered all the stuff already, big deal.
You've still yet to point out any errors in the guide. |

Quote (dysfunctional @ June 25 2002, 5:12 pm) | Basically, I said your information was first install thin sludge. Examples: |
I said errors, those are your "subjective opinions", not errors. Slow CPU should be obvious to most people, same with video card, do you believe anyone with a AMD Duron or tnt2 believe they have a "fast" card/cpu? no
& that's what resolution is. Stating the obvious if you already know what it is, but so what. If someone here were to ask what it was you'd say the same. How can I tell people what to set for resolution without knowing their video card, cpu, ram & other game settings? You can't, when you write your guide you can do a little chart & show what users should set if depending on hardware.
Future cards will have above 128MB memory, you'd probably moan if I said "only" 128MB & a geforce 5 with 256MB video memory came out. ATI & NVIDIA should be annoucing more soon enough, & then I won't have to bother updating the guide for that eventuality.
Simply put your comments are without foundation & rest merely with you having problems with the wording of some stuff. You've pointed *zero* errors out & are just moaning like a child. Again, you seem to know so much, you post a better guide, & rather than some semi-general points you can make statements like;
"set this to high if you have an 750mhz cpu with geforce 3 & 96mb ram, or 800mhz cpu with geforce 2 & 128mb ram.....". Clearly you've never wrote any guides before given you moronic belief I should have further system specific stuff. You obviously have no idea of all the possible combinations of PC components. There's more out there than the latest Dell you know.
At least I can write stuff to help people, which is more than you & a few comments in a forum, I'm happy enough with knowing I've been of use to the thousands that have already read the guide. Anyway, enough with this thread, setup another one if you want you senseless, pointless attempt at bashing keeps bumping this. |

I think your best field of endeavor would be to toss horseshoes, seeing as how you are in love with proximity. Stay away from math and science (or anything where exact labeling is required). Oh, and perhaps medicine is not your field either unless it has something to do with raising spirits with a pinch of this or a dab of that. Once more I can see the bulk of your posts are in the "duh" category of responding to me. Surely your genius could be better applied salvaging SOF2 for the wretched souls so in need of your mental forensics. Again, as you say... you really do not have to be precise with anything... after all, you are judge and jury. If your directions fail, why.... it is all their fault because they have trouble with "your wording and some stuff." (There is another one of your favorite technical words... "stuff"... why, you're the Al Bundy of technical lingo.) Sounds like you are the product of our modern educational system where close is good enough so nobody would hurt your self-esteem. Well, enough of this "Nanny! Nanny! Boo! Boo!" You are really quite a dull fellow. |

Several settings have in-depth explanations, I have no desire to get too detailed with all of them given the variety of hardware out there, not too mention all the drivers. Now you seek to go on with personal attacks.
You're like one of these "sideline coachs", you seek to whinge & moan about how someone else does something, but despite being given numerous chances to prove you can do better you don't. As I've stated many times, if you're so intelligent you post your own guide - heck, even post a better definition. You've completed ignored this point many times & seek instead to nitpick. Again, if you can explain it better then do so. For now this thread degenerates with every reply you make which also happens to make you look more & more pathetic given you responses.
Again, there's the challenge - you do us all a BETTER guide. You won't though, because you can't. |
