All drivers are up to date! There was same issue with the radeon 8500,with the graphics being very tinty. There was a patch for it but it made little difereance, which my friend owns.
By reading all these different posts,i think the game should have had a little more TESTING done before releasing.Never seen a forum this busy with so many issues with new game!

I have a P4 1.8, 512 ram, GForce 2 64 Mb, SB live 5.1, and XP Pro.
I run the game with all settings maxed out at 1024 x 768. Not a problem. Ever.
Look:

I resized the picture.

Are you running 16-bit or 32-bit colors?

Like I said, I RESIZED the picture. Made it bigger. It's 32 bit.
Also, screenshots come out too dark, so I fixed the levels too.

actualy its 16bit, all jpgs are.  i supose you are redering the in 32-bit wich i will not argue.  however the blotchy color on the truck is what looks so bad to those of use that are complainging.  a similar effect can be seen in more clearly in this picture here:

obviously i cranked the brightness on this pic way up.  i did this to accentuate the problem for those of you that fail to realise it normaly.  such "colorbanding" as it is commonly refered to was comon place back in the days of 16-bit renedering.  however 32-bit renendering was implemented to aleviate the severity of colorbanding as well as increase z presision.  unfruntatly the fog and smoke in soldier of fortune as well as many other points look like that no mater how much you crank up the graphical detail.  drivers wont help, a diffrent video card wont help either.  that is simply the way it is going to look, i have no clue why they let this slide but they did.  q3 and rtcw had plenty of fog in them too, but i didnt have colorbanding anything like that.  i sold my v3 in favor of a geforce simply to aviod haveing to look at such disgusting images nearly 3 years ago.

ramrod, if im wrong on this one and there is a way to get this to stop happening please let me know.  if you just never noticed or cared i hope i didnt spoil it for you or if i did hopefuly at least you can convence raven to fix it ;)
