Quake 3 Arena was my all time favorite. I cannot count the good times I had in those arenas. Even played some on a dialup. So if quake4 is similar to quake3 I would buy it.

Heh i still like to play every now and then but i lost most of my interest when the community of people turned into little kids that whined when they lost. Also when Rocket Arena 3 quit Working that really upset me. Stil overall its a very fun game to play with the right people.

It depends on what you consider to be a "decent set of tools". When I saw the alpha build 2 years ago, the tools were already in place and looked good.

True foyle, however we all know that Raven, for the most part, haven't a great track record for issuing a descent set of tools. SoF2 comes to mind. Just one for example.....rotating doors not in the SDK? When we found out that they didn't put that in the SDK how many mappers did we loose just on that one........ lol.

you are so right, foxhound. Raven did screw us by eliminating unnecessary code from sof2. Something that was unexpected after the decent (not great) release from sof1.

However, I have some faith that id will speak up about making sure the tools are intact. They might not be supported... but we can do that for them. [wink]

I saw the tools... I played with them... they worked. I would be quite sad if they turned around and purposefully ripped them out of the finished product. The game was put together in such a way that you would think it was made for modders. You can drop tga textures into the game, lightwave models, 3ds models, and more... all compatible and practically ready to go.

I haven't done any coding for some years so that might have to go to you to sort out buddy lol.

That would be hilariuous. Raven should follow the K.I.S.S. principal they would get a better reputation if they did.

Besides, they will probably make a full function GTK for Q4 once it goes GOLD. at least i think they will.

Kryton, the words 'they' (in relation to Raven) and 'full function' don't belong in the same sentence!

Honestly, I will buy Q4 because I like the Q series. But, if Raven releases a SDK with less capabilities.. then I will boycott Raven for the rest of my life ..unless they learn their mistakes. They will remain.. a, um.. least favorite developer... (heck, I'd turn down a job at Raven ..no matter how much the salary is!) ...if they don't.

Also.. it would be a complete blow the PC gaming industry if Raven was to got hold of the HL (highly unlikely thank god) series in the future. Ha.. I can just see the death threats, lol.
