Hmmm, that's interesting. I've had no problems with the 29.42s and neither have countless others. I don't think it was the drivers themselves causing your problem. Perhaps just reinstalling period did the trick.
I'd be curious to know what happens if you install the 29.42s again.

sorry ramrod... definitely the drivers... tried 29.42 , 28.32 , and then 23.11 and 23.11 is the one that works... even warcraft 3 was crashing because of the other drivers... nvidia needs to get their butts in gear and fix that crap... its horrible that brand new drivers are non-functioning on certain system setups and because i have a PNY card .. all PNY's website does it redirect me to nvidia to get drivers... thanks for the suggestion though... it feels like my computer is tainted with old drivers installed on it.. but it works so i can't complain...

If you have a motherboard with an ALi chipset - Asus A7A266 etc then the reason you are getting 0 AGP memory / no AGP Texture Acceleration is because this chipset effectively has AGP turned off by default with some driver versions.

Solution: Go to http://www.guru3d.com/ and get a copy of RivaTuner.
Then run rivaTuner:
go to power users,
click open matched detonator database (button at bottom 2 in from left),
from there, find the nearest match to your driver,
expand the option NVIDIA Detonator xxxxxxxxx system,
scroll down till you find; EnableAGPFW EnableAGPWStrap EnableAGPSBA EnableAliAGP
and make all of the values 1 instead of blank,
Reboot.

This gave me AGP memory and a 30% boost in 3Dmark 2001, and a vast improvement in FPS in Soldier of Fortune II - its now playable.

I think maniac is correct because I know it's not the drivers themselves. I think it's worthh checking out mrsco. Not that's anything wrong with the 23.11s tho. Plenty are using them as well.

when i install the 29.42 drivers, the agp texture acceleration is not available (greyd out) in directx (dxdiag)!!

with the 23.11 ... it's enable??
how do you explain this one??

Bizart - as I said in my post 'some/most' versions of the drivers cause AGP memory to be turned off, all you have to do is turn it back on as explained in my prior post.

I am running at an average 55 to 60 fps-ish on a XP1.7 and Geforce 2 GTS 32MB. I get as low as 30 fps and as high as 85 (but now I v-synch it) at 1024 x 7?? all texture set to high, gore sky (no shadows however). I never get as low as some of you with better cards.  

I am running XP Pro, 512 pc2100 ram, fireball 30 AS. I am not sure what the problem is, but a poster mentioned that it seems to be the G3 ti card that seem to cause problems. It may well be as on my rig, all is well (for now).
