I'm stuck at learning the new laser-ranger grenade/rifle infantry gun. The laser range part of the gun doesn't WORK! Any ideas. I've been stuck on this for days now. Figures I'd be stuck on a refresher course

I had troubles with this aswell. If you lase something it seams as if the laser does not work because it is slightly higher then the center of the crosshair. If you then move the crosshair up until the laser dot is in the center you will hit the target behind the wall. Took me a while to figure out but it was anoying and it does work well I think.

That was the only part of this entire game that I got stuck at. Wish I could help you. But I can give you at least some helpful advise. Save game just before you start the lase and range plus practice so you don't have to start from beginning each time. LOL! Took me a few hours before I figured that trick out.

Yep, had the same until I figured the rangfinding out. I then discovered that using the darn thing was a complete pain in the arse in the field....consequently I never bothered kitting myself out with one.
  I just use my fav. combo of sniper rifle and M4/grenade(r. click), finding this more user-friendly instead.

The laser range-finder for the grenade launcher on the OICW only seems to work when the scope is not zoomed in at all.

Youre right about not working in zoom. Thats the part I couldn't figure out. Because the instructor tells you to zoom and press the lasik button. NOT SO. cant use it in zoom DOH!

It's not laser, but lase.
And it works ONLY when using the scope.
Bind your special weapon keys to z,x,c and v just for this level.
c will cycle through the modes, v will select the highlighted mode and z and x will zoom in and out.
If you still can't figure it out, I guess you're stuck for good.
